Bigfoot, sometimes called “Sasquatch,” its Native American name, is a creature of North American legend. Some consider it to be a very large, hirsute bipedal hominid—that is, a big, hairy, human-like creature walking on two legs. The bipedal characteristic is what would separate the Sasquatch from apes, which are quadrupeds. The common appellation “Bigfoot” comes from the fact that the creature reportedly leaves very large footprints. Other cultures also have folklore concerning tall ape-men: the Almas of Mongolia, the Yeti of Nepal, and the Nuk-luk of the Northwest Territories, for example.
Some people believe that Bigfoot is a Neanderthal-type human species, a “missing link” between humans and apes. Others believe it is a species of nocturnal ape, descended from an extinct genus of 10-foot-tall ape called Gigantopithecus. But what does the bible say about this legendary creature?
The Identity of Bigfoot!
Another theory involves Adam and Eve’s son Cain. Cain was, of course, the first murderer, and he was cursed by God and condemned to be “a restless wanderer on the earth” (Genesis 4:12). Some theorize that Bigfoot is a descendant of Cain. Like his forbear, Bigfoot is cursed to live apart from the rest of humanity and has become monstrous in his appearance. This would make Bigfoot similar to the fictional monster Grendel in Beowulf.
Some people look into the Bible and claim to find “proof” that Bigfoot exists. Oner theory involved Esau. Esau was born covered with hair (Genesis 25:25), and his and his descendants, the Edomites, were enemies of Israel. These facts lead some to speculate that the creatures we call “Bigfoot” are actually modern-day Edomites, who have inherited Esau’s trait of being “a man of the field” (Genesis 25:27).
Still other Bigfoot enthusiasts use complex “Bible codes” based on numeric sequences to find the Sasquatch in the Scriptures. These numerologists claim to have discovered mentions of “Bigfoot,” “beast of the earth,” “hairy” and “wild man” in the Bible, all in the same context.
The conclusion:
All these theories share a common weakness: the creature they are attempting to explain is legendary. There is no real evidence for the existence of Bigfoot. Belief in such a creature is based solely on anecdotes and hearsay—and some footprints, which are easily counterfeited. In the hundreds of years that people have been hunting the Sasquatch, no one has ever caught one, dead or alive. Many have claimed to have shot Bigfoot, yet a carcass has never been found. This is not to say that it is impossible for Bigfoot to exist; there could be a rare species of gorilla living in the remote areas of North America. But, again, there is no hard evidence.
Attempts to bolster a Bigfoot theory with the Bible are uncalled for. The Bible does not mention Bigfoot nor allude to a hairy race of half-man, half-ape giants. Rather than speculate on far-fetched theories of what might exist, we should concentrate on what the Bible plainly teaches (see 1 Timothy 4:7).
My anecdotal opinion!
My personal belief is that if such a creature really did exist, then it would be a fully modern day human being covered in hair, at best, possibly descended from Esau. This would make the most sense.
The real Bigfoot!
The real Bigfoot isn’t just some legendary apeman. People have actually been misidentifying the American Black Bear as the legendary Bigfoot; particularly in regions with high bear populations. This is based on the fact that bears can stand on their hind legs, which can make them appear more upright and ape-like.
Nothing you see here, move asking, just another case of crypto Misidentify.
Is Bigfoot biblical? No! He isn’t.

Name: the 1611 King James Version Bible
Author:
The King James Bible, or KJV, was not written by a single author. It was a collaborative effort by a committee of 47 scholars and clergymen over several years, overseen by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Richard Bancroft. While King James I commissioned the project, he did not write the translation himself.
In Jewish traditions, specifically in the book of Enoch and in the book of Genesis we read about fallen angels known as the Watchers.
the Watchers are a group of angels, initially tasked with observing and guiding humanity, who later rebelled against God. These angels, also known as the Grigori in Greek, are described as having taken human form, taken human wives, and fathered the Nephilim, often associated with giants and demigods in mythology. They are distinguished from other fallen angels who openly rebelled against God.
A Watcher can be seen as a type of biblical fallen angel. The word is related to the root meaning “to be awake”. It occurs in both plural and singular forms in the Book of Daniel, where reference is made to the holiness of the beings. The Books of Enoch (2nd–1st centuries BC) refer to both good and bad Watchers, with a primary focus on the rebellious ones.
The Good watchers in Daniel!
In the Book of Daniel 4:13, 17, 23 there are three references to the class of “watcher, holy ones”. The term is introduced by Nebuchadnezzar who says he saw “a watcher, a holy one come down (singular verb) from heaven.” He describes how in his dream the watcher says that Nebuchadnezzar will eat grass and be mad and that this punishment is “by the decree of the watchers, the demand by the word of the holy ones” … “that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men.”
After hearing the king’s dream, Daniel considers for an hour and then responds:
“And because the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven periods of time pass over him,’ this is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king, that you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom He will”.
Scholars view these “watchers, holy ones” as perhaps showing an influence of Babylonianreligion, that is an attempt by the author of this section of Daniel to present Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian gods recognizing the power of the god of Israel as “Most High”.
The Greek Septuagint version differs from the Aramaic Masoretic Text: for example, the Aramaic text is ambiguous about who is telling the story of verse 14, whether it is Nebuchadnezzar, or the watcher in his dream.
The bad watchers from the book of Enoch!
In the Books of Enoch, the first Book of Enochdevotes much of its attention to the fall of the watchers. The Second Book of Enoch addresses the watchers who are in fifth heaven where the fall took place. The Third Book of Enoch gives attention to the unfallen watchers.
This book is based on one interpretation of the Sons of God passage in Genesis 6, according to which angels mated with human females, giving rise to a race of hybrids known as the Nephilim.
In the Book of Enoch, the watchers are angels dispatched to Earth to watch over the humans. They soon begin to lust for human women and, at the prodding of their leader Samyaza, defect to illicitly instruct mankind and procreate among them, arriving Mount Hermon. The offspring of these unions are the Nephilim, savage giants who pillage the earth and endanger humanity. Samyaza and his associates further taught their human charges arts and technologies such as weaponry, cosmetics, mirrors, sorcery, and other techniques that would otherwise be discovered gradually over time by humans, not foisted upon them all at once. Eventually, God allows a Great Flood to rid the earth of the Nephilim, but first sends Uriel to warn Noah so as not to eradicate the human race. The watchers are bound “in the valleys of the Earth” until Judgment Day. Jude verse 6 says:
“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
The chiefs of tens, listed in the Book of Enoch, are as follows:
“7. And these are the names of their chiefs: Shemihazah—this one was their leader; Arteqoph, second to him; Remashel, third to him; Kokabel, fourth to him; Armumahel, fifth to him; Ramel, sixth to him; Daniel, seventh to him; Ziqel, eighth to him; Baraqel, ninth to him; Asael, tenth to him; Hermani, eleventh to him; Matarel, twelfth to him; Ananel, thirteenth to him; Setawel, fourteenth to him; Samshiel, fifteenth to him; Sahriel, sixteenth to him; Tummiel, seventeenth to him; Turiel, eighteenth to him; Yomiel, nineteenth to him; Yehadiel, twentieth to him.
8. These are their chiefs of tens.”
The book of Enoch also lists leaders of the 200 fallen angels who married and commenced unnatural unions with human women, and who taught forbidden knowledge. Some are also listed in Book of Raziel (Sefer Raziel HaMalakh), the Zohar, and Jubilees.
“Araqiel (also Arakiel, Araqael, Araciel, Arqael, Sarquael, Arkiel, Arkas) taught humans the signs of the earth.
Armaros (also Amaros or Armoniel) in Enoch I taught humanity the resolving of enchantments.
Azazel taught humans to make knives, swords, shields, and how to devise ornaments and cosmetics.
Gadreel (or Gader’el) taught the art of cosmetics, the use of weapons and killing blows.
Baraqel (Baraqiel) taught astrology.
Bezaliel mentioned in Enoch I, left out of most translations because of damaged manuscripts and problematic transmission of the text.
Chazaqiel (sometimes Ezeqeel or Cambriel) taught humans the signs of the clouds(meteorology).
Kokabiel (also Kakabel, Kochbiel, Kokbiel, Kabaiel, and Kochab), In the Book of Raziel he is a high-ranking, holy angel. In Enoch I, he is a fallen watcher, resident of the nether realms, and commands 365,000 surrogate spirits to do his bidding. Among other duties, he instructs his fellows in astrology.
Penemue “taught mankind the art of writing with ink and paper,” and taught “the children of men the bitter and the sweet and the secrets of wisdom.” (I Enoch 69.8)
Sariel (also Suriel) taught humankind about the courses of the moon (at one time regarded as forbidden knowledge).
Samyaza (also Shemyazaz, Shamazya, Semiaza, Shemhazi, Semyaza and Amezyarak) is one of the leaders of the fall from heaven.
Shamsiel, once a guardian of Eden as stated in the Zohar, served as one of the two chief aides to the archangel Uriel (the other aide being Hasdiel) when Uriel bore his standard into battle, and is the head of 365 legions of angels and also crowns prayers, accompanying them to the 5th heaven. In Jubilees, he is referred to as one of the Watchers. He is a fallen angel who teaches the signs of the sun.
Yeqon or Jeqon was the ringleader who first tempted the other Watchers into having sexual relations with humans.[16] His accomplices were Asbeel, Gadreel, Penemue, and Kasdaye (or Kasadya), who were all identified as individual “satans”.”
Additional information!
The Grigori were both physically and spiritually gigantic, at least by the standards of the people who later wrote about them. The Grigori were one of the more technological orders and had many scouts, warriors and designers. Many of the Grigori where talented in subjects of crystal science, astronomy, biology, combat and philosophy. The Grigori had a lot of culture in their society as they are also said to be the most human-like. They tend to be bigger in stature than other angelic species but can conceal their heights to average levels.
In the ancient world, when you look at it the knowledge shared advanced our civilization to much causing reckless bloodshed even the cosmetics parts it was probably fighting over material resources as well.
The punishment
The archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel observed this lawless and unrighteous behavior taking place and decide that they must act. Turning to God, their father informed them that the only way to ensure the full and total destruction of humanity is to destroy everything else and begin anew.
Uriel is sent to warn Noah of the oncoming Flood, Raphael was sent to punish Azazel by binding and casting him into Dudael, Gabriel was dispatched to destroy the half-breeds as well as the children of men born from sin, he does this by inciting a great battle between the two. And lastly, Michael binds the leader of the Watchers, Samyaza, alongside all the other Watchers who defiled themselves in unions with human women, damning them for the remainder of their long lives.
It was not long before Enoch approached the Watchers and informed them of God’s plan, which resulted in the Watchers pleading and begging with him to draw a petition as they trembling in fear while seeking forgiveness. However, God responds to Enoch in a dream that the petition is denied, as the Watchers would not receive forgiveness nor would they ever ascend to Heaven again. The petition on behalf of their children was also denied, they would have to watch as the Nephilim were killed right before their eyes. Later on, God sends the Great Flood to rid the earth of the Nephilim completely, all while the Watchers are thrown into Sheol chained for all eternity.
There really not much to say about this. It’s pretty much as it reads. If any further questions feel free to let me know

I have spent a lot of time studying the prospect for a major large-scale conflict to transpire in the latter portion of the end times. I believe the four angels bound at the Euphrates River are key players in this conflict. In this blog, I share insight on the four angels bound at the Euphrates River.
In Revelation 9:13-19, the four angels bound at the Euphrates River are fallen angels or demonic spirits. They are released by a voice from the horns of the altar to inflict judgment upon a third of humanity:
“(13) And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, (14) Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. (15) And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. (16) And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.” (Revelation 9:13-16)
The angels released from the Euphrates River are fallen angels because they have been bound there. The Greek word for “bound” (deō) is only used twice in the Book of Revelation. The other verse where this word appears is in Revelation 20:2, which describes Satan being bound for 1,000 years.
Given the context of how the word “deō” is used in Revelation 20:2, 7, it is likely that the use of deō in Revelation 9:14 is meant to convey the sense that the four angels bound at the Euphrates River are imprisoned in a similar manner that Satan will be imprisoned for one thousand years.
The treatment of these four angels is interesting to note because they will be temporarily released from their bondage unlike the group of angels described in Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4.
“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” (Jude 1:6)
Also note this verse:
“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;” (2 Peter 2:4)
I believe the Bible is inerrant and without contradiction, so I do not believe there is a contradiction between Revelation 9:14, Jude 1:6, and 2 Peter 2:4. I think these verses can be harmonized by the likely possibility that the four angels are kept at a different location than the group of angels mentioned in Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4 (the location Peter mentioned is hell/Tartarus).
Revelation 9:14-15 states that the four angels who will be released were were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year” at the Euphrates River. This phrase indicates that these angels are reserved for a specific purpose-primarily causing the type of chaos that leads to the death of a third of mankind.
I believe the four angels may play some role in stirring up a large-scale conflict like the unclean spirits will rally the kings of the earth to battle following the pouring of the sixth vial (Revelation 16:13-14).
Note:
I believe the connection between the four angels and the 200 million horsemen is that the four angels are responsible for stirring up these horsemen for combat. It’s not unheard-of for spirits to gather forces for battle. Revelation 16 records that three frog-like spirits travel throughout the world to gather leaders and their forces for the “battle of that great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:13-14).
So what evil did these being do?
When examining Revelation 9:14 we can draw some conclusions. One interpretation is that; like the previous group; not having been bound in the bottomless pit, but “in the great river Euphrates,” so apparently their particular sin was at a different time and place. Perhaps this particular horde of fallen angels, with their four captains, had been associated with the first great human rebellion after the Flood, when Nimrod led mankind to rebel against God at Babel, located on the Euphrates. As a result, God had scattered the people around the world, confusing their tongues (Genesis 11:9).
With t details provided in Genesis 11:4, it’s clear that the angels were confined to the Euphrates where they had established their base.
This was honestly a pretty short blog; if you had any further questions then feel free to let me know.

*(this is my personal take on the Angel of the lord)
In Christianity, the Angel of death is called Mashchith. In Jewish traditions and in Islam, Archangel Azrael is the name given to the Angel of death
While it’s true that Jewish traditions are biblical, many Jewish traditions are rooted in biblical texts and practices, but it’s also important to understand that Judaism has evolved over time through the development of Rabbinic Judaism and the Oral Torah. The Torah(the first five books of the Hebrew Bible) and other biblical books are foundational, but Jewish tradition also includes interpretations, commentaries, and practices developed over centuries
the Angel of the lord is mentioned in various verses throughout the bible. He is an entity sent out by God on several occasions to deal with numerous peoples.
Despite being the angel who transports the souls of the deceased to their respective afterlives, he holds a benevolent role. While Azreal isn’t entirely recognized in Christian cannon, he is, However, not the only angel of death as there is an entire garrison of angels of death, including Rahab and Sariel, which Azrael commands.
The Angel of death, as I understand, makes sure that the souls of the deceased make it safely to the afterlife and provides solace towards those suffering from the death of a loved one. As angels of death are sometimes confused with Grim Reapers, Azrael is often imagined as someone with a hood and a scythe.
*Azrael is essentially fierce towards those who do not feel remorse for the wrong things they did when they were alive. He also appears to them to notify that their time on Earth had expired.
Who is the Angel in Exodus?
Azrael, in Christianity, is often identified as the final plague in the series of ten unleashed by God upon Egypt; brought about the demise of Egypt’s firstborn children while sparing the lives of the Hebrews. This significant event is now recognized as the “Passover.” Azrael’s name gained prominence as he transported souls to heaven for God’s judgment.
Moses’ instructions to the Hebrews contained this warning:
“When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down” (Exodus 12:23)
Psalm 78 recounts the plagues in Egypt and sums them up as God’s unleashing of “a band of destroying angels” (verse 49).
*note: please read my blog on Abaddon to see the full story on this!
The story of the Angel of the lord acts as a divine judgment and punishment for the Egyptians’ oppression of the Israelites.
Also note: given the context; It’s entirely possibly that god canc down in a temporary human form with a legion of reaper angels.
Was God Cruel To The Egyptians At The Exodus?
No. He judged fairly! This is a reasonable question to ask, and certainly worthy of a thoughtful answer. Here are some things we learn from the Bible that put the killing of the first-born in perspective.
1. While it is true that God did send the death angel to kill the first-born males of Egypt (Exodus 11:4-5), let us remember that Pharaoh (with the support of all Egyptians) ordered that every newborn Israelite male be killed (Exodus 1:8-22).
2. God publicly warned Pharaoh and Egypt what would happen, but Pharaoh only hardened in his resolve not to let the Israelites go.
3. The killing of Egypt’s firstborn could have been avoided, had Pharaoh simply released the Israelites as God required.
4. While God spared the Israelite firstborn, the Israelites were required to observe the first Passover, and to put sacrificial blood on their door posts. They had to obey God’s command by faith in order to be spared (Hebrews 11:28).
5. This is the outworking of God’s covenant with Abraham, many years before:
“1. Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.
2. Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.
3. I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly I must curse, and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name” (Genesis 12:1-3).
It was not the Israelites’ goodness which spared their firstborn, but God’s covenant promises, and the blood of an acceptable sacrifice (see Exodus 6:5-8). God is merciful and compassionate, not willing that any should perish. The severity of God’s dealings with Egypt was not pleasurable to God, but was the only just response to the cruelty and oppression of Egypt for many years.
6. The LORD passed by before him and proclaimed: “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness, 7 keeping loyal love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children and children’s children, to the third and fourth generation” (Exodus 34:6-7).
31. Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I take no delight in the death of anyone, declares the sovereign LORD. Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:31-32).
11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but prefer that the wicked change his behavior and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil deeds! Why should you die, O house of Israel?’ (Ezekiel 33:11)
6. We learn from the Book of Jonah that God sends those to warn Gentile nations which oppress Israel of impending judgment, and to give them the opportunity to repent and escape God’s judgment.
It is easy (especially from movies related to the exodus) to think of the death of the firstborn primarily in terms of babies and infants. However, we should not assume that the firstborn of Egypt were innocent “collateral damage” in this conflict. I believe we are wrong to think of the firstborn only as infants and toddlers. The firstborn son is the rightful heir of the father, to lead or to rule in his place. Thus, I would think that the middle-age firstborn of Egypt would be the current leaders (or at least would-be leaders) of the nation. If not already leaders, they would be the next generation of leaders. And, if leaders, they would be those largely responsible for the oppression of the Israelites.
According to Jonah 4:9-11, God is well aware of the relative innocence of the very young.
7. Pharaoh and the Egyptians had already experienced God’s power to fulfill His warnings in the nine previous plagues. This means that the Egyptians who had feared the word of the Lord had acted wisely to avoid the judgment which Moses foretold. (Exodus 9:18-21).
Also know that God was equally severe with the Israelites when they were guilty of sin. God did not simply bless Israel, regardless of their sins, and yet punish all other nations for their sins. How could a “good” God not also be a just God? Do we really believe that a just and righteous God can turn a blind eye to the horrible oppression of the Israelites by the Egyptians? (Deuteronomy 28:58-61).
The instance of the plagues of Egypt want ment to be about death from a wrathful God, it was about changing in Pharaoh’s heart and to end the slavery of the Israelites.
According to the explanation in 1 Samuel 2:6 God’s choice to cease willing the life because the nature of death is inflicted by the power of God on account of original sin, therefore, God’s choice to cease willing the life of the firstborn males in Egypt in no way contradicts his divine nature. This means that he cannot be called a murder for justly judging the Egyptians for enslaving the Israelites, killing their first born children and brutal torture for 430 years.
Is there is singular angel of death in Christianity?
In fact, the Angel of the lord works with various other Angels in these cases of death. (Please read my blog on Abaddon)! The latter is found in Job 33:22, as well as in Proverbs 16:14 in the plural “messengers of death”.
So it would appear that Mashchith, the Angel of Death, has Reaper angels that act as agents for him in his role in overseeing and executing the transition of souls into the afterlife.
These beings includes the Archangel’s Abaddon, Azreal, Michael, Rahab, Sariel and many others.
The body of Moses?
A great example of proverbs 16:14 is the brief occurrence of St. Michael the Archangel battling Lucifer over the body of Moses.
The story of Michael and the Devil disputing over the body of Moses is found in Jude 1:9. While the specific reason for the dispute is not explicitly stated in the Bible, it is generally understood that Michael was trying to prevent the body from being misused. The narrative highlights that Michael, the archangel, did not dare to insult or condemn the Devil, instead, he simply stated, “The Lord rebukes you”!
The passage in Jude 1:9 appears outside of the Old Testament account of Moses’ death and burial in Deuteronomy 34:1-6, where it is stated that Moses died in Moab and was buried by the Lord in an unknown place.
Michael had to struggle or dispute with Satan about the body of Moses, but what that entailed is not described. Another angelic struggle is related by Daniel, who describes an angel coming to him in a vision. This angel, named Gabriel in Daniel 8:16 and 9:21, tells Daniel that he was “resisted” by a demon called “the prince of Persia” until the archangel Michael came to his assistance (Daniel 10:13). So we learn from Daniel that angels and demons fight spiritual battles over the souls of men and nations, and that the demons resist angels and try to prevent them from doing God’s bidding. Jude tells us that Michael was sent by God to deal in some way with the body of Moses, which God Himself had buried after Moses’ death (Deuteronomy 34:5-6).
Various theories have been put forth as to what this struggle over Moses’ body was about. One is that Satan, ever the accuser of God’s people (Revelation 12:10), may have resisted the raising of Moses to eternal life on the grounds of Moses’ sin at Meribah (Deuteronomy 32:51) and his murder of the Egyptian (Exodus 2:12).
Some have supposed that the reference in Jude is the same as the passage in Zechariah 3:1-2:
“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the LORD said to Satan, ‘The LORD rebuke you, O Satan!’ “! (Zechariah 3:1-2).
Firstly, Jude does in fact seem to refer to the contest between Michael and the devil as true. He speaks of it in the same way in which he would have done if he had spoken of the death of Moses or of his smiting the rock. And who can prove that it is not true? What evidence is there that it is not? There are many allusions in the Bible to angels. We know that the archangel Michael is real; there is frequent mention of the devil; and there are numerous affirmations that both bad and good angels are employed in important transactions on the earth.
Secondly, Jude 9 is the supreme illustration of how Christians are to deal with Satan and demons. The example of Michael refusing to pronounce a curse upon Satan should be a lesson to Christians in how to relate to demonic forces. Believers are not to address them, but rather to seek the Lord’s intervening power against them. If as powerful a being as Michael deferred to the Lord in dealing with Satan, who are we to attempt to reproach, cast out, or command demons in our own strength?
The Assyrian camp!
The Military camps used by the Assyrian king Sennacherib, whose exploits of laying siege to Lachish and Jerusalem, are detailed in the Bible. At the time of the sieges, which both occurred around 701 B.C., the Assyrians controlled a rapidly growing empire that stretched from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea.
The sieges at Lachish and Jerusalem are mentioned frequently in the Hebrew Bible and supposedly ended at Jerusalem when “the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp” (2 Kings 19:35).
The Bible attributes this divine intervention to the prayers of King Hezekiah, who sought protection from Yahweh, the Israelite deity. The Assyrians were thwarted from capturing Jerusalem, effectively ending Sennacherib’s campaign in Judah.
Israel has been receiving a warning about the coming judgement of the Lord (Isaiah 10:3–4). The Assyrian army was powerful, brutal, and greatly feared all over the Near East. Assyrian kings were ambitious to take possession of all the nations within their reach. Now, the Lord makes clear that Assyria is not His chosen people. Despite Isaiah’s prophecy that Assyria will succeed in conquering Israel and bringing destruction to Judah, he proclaims as well. After they have served God’s purpose as an instrument of punishment, the Assyrians, too, will be punished.
For now, the Lord calls them the rod of His anger. Their weapons are the extension of His fury. Two things leap out from these statements. First, the power of the nations are nothing compared to the Lord. He raises them up and tears them down for His own purposes. While Judah quakes at the coming of Assyria, they should be trembling at the power of the Lord. Instead of trying to make alliances with Assyria’s king, as Judah’s King Ahaz did, the people of Judah should be trying to renew their full dependence on the Lord (2 Kings 16:7–9).
The other thing made obvious by Isaiah’s quotation from the Lord here is that God is more than annoyed with Israel. He is furious. He is livid with rage. He will wield the destructive power of the Assyrian empire against Israel and Judah due to their ongoing unfaithfulness to Him.
Remember that this was a time when horrible things existed. Things such as temple prostitution, child sacrifice, abortion and infanticide.
King David vs the Angel of Death!
In 1 Chronicles 21:15, the same “Angel of the Lord” is seen by David to stand “between the earth and the heaven, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out against the Hebrews’ enemies”.
In 2 Samuel 24, the story of King David and the Angel of Death revolves around a plague sent by God to punish David’s sin of counting the Israelites. David, fearing God’s wrath, seeks forgiveness by choosing to endure a plague rather than other punishments. The Angel of the Lord is seen standing with a sword, ready to strike Jerusalem. David, interceding for his people, builds an altar on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, sacrificing to appease God and stop the angel’s destructive hand.
God, seeing David’s repentance and sacrifice, intervenes and orders the angel to halt his destruction. The angel’s hand is withdrawn, and the plague is averted. This event underscores the weighty responsibility of leadership and the consequences of sin, even for those who are close to God.
“16. But as the angel was preparing to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord relented and said to the death angel, “Stop! That is enough!” At that moment the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
17. When David saw the angel, he said to the Lord, “I am the one who has sinned and done wrong! But these people are as innocent as sheep—what have they done? Let your anger fall against me and my family.
18. That day Gad came to David and said to him, “Go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
19. So David went up to do what the Lord had commanded him.
20. When Araunah saw the king and his men coming toward him, he came and bowed before the king with his face to the ground.
21. Why have you come, my Lord the king?” Araunah asked. David replied, “I have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the Lord there, so that he will stop the plague.
22. Take it, my Lord the king, and use it as you wish,” Araunah said to David. “Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and you can use the threshing boards and ox yokes for wood to build a fire on the altar.
23. I will give it all to you, Your Majesty, and may the Lord your God accept your sacrifice.
24. But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen.
25. David built an altar there to the Lord and sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings. And the Lord answered his prayer for the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
I’d say that this is pretty solid evidence for the Angel of death.
Also note: given the context; It’s entirely possibly that god canc down in a temporary human form with a legion of reaper angels.
The Crucifixion of Jesus!
The Bible mentions that there were angels present at the time of Jesus’s death and resurrection, but it doesn’t explicitly name a specific angel tasked with executing the death.
In some interpretations, the “Angel of Death” may be seen as a messenger of God’s judgment or a symbolic representation of the death that Jesus experienced on the cross.
The Bible tells us that the angels were eyewitnesses to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
What must the angels have thought as they witnessed his death on the cross? What must they have thought as they heard him be accused? And what must they have thought when they who had worshiped him in heaven saw the mocking worship of the people who put a reed in his hand and said, ‘Hail, king of the Jews’? And what must have gone through the minds of angels as they saw someone taking a briar of thorns and weaving it together: ‘Surely they will not put that on his head?’ And what must the angels have thought of our human race when they saw the Son of God nailed to a cross?
The Bible tells us what the angels were doing at that very moment. Matthew 26:53 says the angels were standing on the precipice of Heaven, awaiting the order from God to deliver His Son. But that order never came. Jesus said in Matthew 26:53 to His accusers:
“Do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53)
But Jesus never made that request, because He understood His purpose for coming. Jesus said:
“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
But it did not stop there. Three days later, the angels were also eyewitnesses to Christ’s resurrection from the dead. On that Easter Sunday morning, a violent earthquake occurred. And at that moment, an angel came and rolled the stone away. The angel sat upon that stone, and the women came to find the Lord. Just picture that angel, sitting on that stone, with his arms probably crossed as if to say, “So much for the power of the grave!” The women inquired where the Lord was, then the angel said:
“Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:5-6).
Weeks later, when the Lord in His resurrected body was about to ascend into Heaven, the Bible says the angels were not only in Heaven watching the event, but two angels were also on earth watching the event. As Jesus ascended into Heaven, the crowd was gazing into the sky. And those angels said to the crowd:
“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
Note: so it appears that God comes in a temporary pre-incarnate form with a legion of reaper angels such as Azreal, Abaddon, Michael, Rahab, Sariel and many others.
Although Azrael is more prominent in Islam and Jewish traditions, It is my personal belief that Azrael is amungst the reaper angels who holds the title as a destroying angel, or the Angel of the lord; in Christianity!

The King James Bible, or KJV, was not written by a single author. It was a collaborative effort by a committee of 47 scholars and clergymen over several years, overseen by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Richard Bancroft. While King James I commissioned the project, he did not write the translation himself.
This brief blog will cover some Demonology in relation to both the bible and the lesser key of Solomon!
Who are the Cardinal Demons?
The four Cardinal Demon Kings, also known as the Demons of the Four Winds, are Oriens (East), Amaymon (East), Ziminiar (North), Gaap (South), and Corson (West). These demons are believed to be associated with the four cardinal directions. Oriens is also sometimes referred to as Uriens.
While the Bible does not explicitly mention “Cardinal Demons” in the same way it references figures like Satan, the concept of demonic spirits being in charge of certain areas of worship and influence is present. Some interpretations suggest that “goat demons” in Leviticus 17:7 might represent a lower level of demonic influence or specific demonic entities associated with animal sacrifice.
“They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods they had not known, to newly arrived gods, which your fathers did not fear”. (Deuteronomy 32:17)
So who are these dennings mentioned in this passage? They are described in greater details in the Deuterocannon as Amaymon, Ziminiar, Gaap and Corson.
Let’s start with amaymon. In demonology, Amaymon is said to be a prince of Hell, and, according to some, he’s the only one who has power over Asmodeus.
Amaymon is said to have a deadly poisonous breath. The Lesser Key of Solomon states that the exorcist or conjurer must be in possession of a silver ring, that is duly consecrated and worn on the middle finger, as a form of protection against this poisonous astral breath.
So what’s the relationship to Asmodeus?
Amaymon is a Prince of Hell who represents the sin of Wrath along with being an Archdemon under Asmodeus. Amaymon is a powerful archdemon that is an extra member of the Seven Princes of Hell. Asmoday and sometimes Gaap are said to be his servants. He also has Emlon, Madyconn, Ocarbydatonn, Boytheon and Seere as his servants.
Amaymon was one of the eight Sub-Princes, described as an Egyptian devil whom Abramelin restrained from working evil from the third hour till noon and from the ninth till evening. In this text, he is one of eight sub-princes summoned to serve the magician as part of the Holy Guardian Angel rite. Mathers relates his name to a Greek root meaning “terrible violence and vehemence.”
Next up is Ziminiar. Ziminiar is one of the four principal kings that have power on the Ars Goetia supposedly constrained by King Solomon (according to the Lesser Key of Solomon), and is not to be conjured except on great occasions. The other three kings are Amaymon, Corson and Gaap; although some translations of the Lesser Key of Solomon consider Belial, Beleth, Asmodai and Gaap, not giving detail on the cardinal point they rule.
The third is Corson. Corson is one of the four principal demon kings that have power on the seventy-two demons supposedly constrained by King Solomon, and is not to be conjured except on great occasions.
The last is a Gasp. This is a goetic demon described in the Lesser Key of Solomon as a Prince in human form who incites the love. He also commands sixty-six legions of demons. Gaap also provides medical care for women, transforms them to make it easier to get to a lover, renders them infertile, and rules twenty-five legions of spirits in addition to the 66 other legions. Gaap is also described as a President, giving him the powers to teach philosophy and liberal arts, make others invisible, steal familiars from other magicians, make men stupid, and carry men between kingdoms.
Extra notes: For anyone who hasn’t heard of the demon Asmodeus, he is found in the Deuterocannonical book named “the book of Tobit”, which is considered to be cannon to the bible.
he is described as an evil demon who killed seven successive husbands of Sarah, the daughter of Raguel, before they could marry her. Tobias, with the help of the angel Raphael, eventually banishes Asmodeus. (Tobit 3:8 and Tobit 3:17)!
So is there any scriptural explanation?
I’m fact there is. The Cardinal Devils are the original devils created by the demons and the progenitors of the pureblood devil houses. In Jewish folklore, they’re known as foreign and/or night spirits called the Shedim.
They appear only twice (always plural) in the Tanakh, at Psalm 106:37 and Deuteronomy 32:17. Both times it deals with child or animalsacrifices.
Cardinal devils are the first demoniccreatures to be created by the demons after their banishment into the Underworld, thus making them some of the most ancient and powerful non-celestial beings in existence, as they antedating the primordial gods’ creations for hundreds of eons and the direct cause for the creation of the Jinn’s; (the same ones that’s under the rulership of Abaddon in the lesser known realm called Jinnston).
The connection to Jinnston!
The “jinnston”, the realm of jinns concept refers to the belief in Islamic traditions about a parallel world of supernatural beings called jinn. Jinn are described as beings of fire, distinct from humans and angels, who can influence human lives and exist alongside us. They are believed to inhabit various places, including caves, deserted places, graveyards, and darkness.
They are believed to have existed before humanity and are sometimes described as the original inhabitants of Earth. They serve as a pattern for later human disobedience: at first, they were created by God, then rebel against God’s messengers, shed blood and exploit the environment, and are eventually punished by God’s angels.
Just like any other created being, they have free will and are accountable for their deeds. They can be either believers or disbelievers in God. While they are naturally invisible, jinn are supposed to be composed of thin and subtle bodies and are capable of shapeshifting, usually choosing to appear as snakes, but also as scorpions, lizards, or humans.
A jinn’s interaction with a human may be negative, positive, or neutral; and can range from casual to highly intimate, even involving sexual activity and the production of hybrid offspring. However, they rarely meddle in human affairs, preferring instead to live among their own in a societal arrangement similar to that of the Arabian tribes.
Upon being disturbed or harmed by humans, they usually retaliate in kind, with the most drastic interactions leading them to possess the assailant’s body, thus requiring exorcism. A commonly held belief is that jinns cannot hurt someone who wears something with the name of God written on it.
King Solomon and the Jinns?
If you though Angels and Demons were the only beings created by god, then your mistaken because Jinns are indeed biblical!
King Solomon, a figure in both Jewish and Islamic tradition, was granted the ability to control jinn, spirit-like beings in Islamic belief. This ability was used to assist in the construction of the Temple of Jerusalem and to command jinn to perform other tasks, including helping with the construction of the Queen of Sheba’s throne. Solomon’s ring, often depicted as a pentagram or hexagram, is said to have given him the power to command the supernatural, including jinn, and to speak with animals. Some accounts also describe Solomon losing his ring to a jinn named Sakir, who then ruled Israel in his place for a time before being defeated and imprisoned by Solomon.
In the Testament of Solomon we learn about God King Solomon used a jinn for labor and then bound it to an oil lamp and tossed it into the ocean as a form or punishment.
Another excellent example within the Old Testament story is of Saul and the Witch of Endor, which is often cited as a potential parallel to the jinns. (1 Samuel 28).
The Bible does recognise ‘demons’ and ‘evil spirits’ and supernatural entities as such but does not offer a concept in the same manner as the Quranic ‘Jinn’.
Take Deuteronomy 32:17:
“They sacrificed unto devils (Hebrew shed), not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not”
So is this a reference to the jinns? Possibly so! There is also the sand mention of these “devil’s” in Psalms 106:37 and in mark 1:32-39.
Jinns are often considered the Islamic equivalent of demons; however, they are more complex than that. If jinns do exist, we know the Quranic explanation of them is incorrect because it contradicts God’s Word (John 17:17). Since jinn simply means “hidden,” then the word could describe those unseen creatures that inhabit the spiritual realm. But we must always be careful to compare any speculation with what is revealed in God’s Word and base any belief or conviction on that alone.
The connection to the demon Paimon!
The goetia, or the Lesser Key of Solomon, is a foundational text in demonology. It’s a grimoire, a book of magic, that contains detailed information about demons, their powers, seals, and the rituals needed to summon and control them. The Lesser Key of Solomon, also known as the Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis, is one of the most popular and influential texts on demonology, offering detailed descriptions of spirits and conjurations. It’s a key resource for understanding and practicing demonology.
And as such, this should be involved with explaining such evil beings described within the bible. Angelology and Demonology are very crucial parts of the Christian religion.
The Goetia, Weyer, and de Plancy warn that if King Paimon appears alone, a sacrifice must be made to summon Lebal (sometimes called Bebal), the most devoted to Lucifer, and Abalam, two kings who serve under him but do not always accompany him. These three sources state that he rules 66 legions of spirits,
Paimon was an angel that resided in Heaven, either belonging to the Order of Dominions while others say the Order of Cherubim. He was among the angels that was the most captivated by Lucifer’s music, giving awareness to the Morning Star via attempting to match the notes of his instruments with Lucifer’s singing.
Paimon is depicted as a man with a beautiful face, wearing a precious crown, and riding a dromedary. Before him often goes a host of demons and ghouls with the shape of men, playing trumpets, cymbals, and any other sort of musical instruments.
He has a great voice and roars as soon as he arrives, speaking in this manner for a while, until the conjurer compels him and then he answers clearly the questions he is asked.
Their fall from Grace!
Paimon was an angel that resided in Heaven, Lucifer, while impressed, regardless did not pay that much attention to Paiman due to his pride but Paimon remained loyal. As a result of being captivated by Lucifer’s power, beauty, and mind he was unsurprisingly on Lucifer’s side during the War in Heaven, only to be defeated by the angel Haziel.
He was cast down to Hell alongside all other rebel-angels. He was present at Pandemonium during Lucifer’sRally, officially declaring himself as the most loyal servant of Lucifer. Because of his loyalty and overall usefulness to Lucifer, Paimon was elected a king of Hell and joined the musical choir of Hell that sings Lucifer’s glory.
Paimon is also said to behave much like a traditional genie where he would grant the conjurer a wish but the conjurer in question must be specific in their wish for Paimon could easily twist the order. When the conjurer invokes this demon he must look towards the northwest, for there is where he has his house, and when Paimon appears he must be allowed to ask what he wishes and be answered, in order to obtain the same from him.
Other notes: During the Great War, most cardinal devils fought alongside their creators against the angels of Heaven and the fallen angels of Purgatory in an attempt to help their creators become the rulers of all existence. After the Ouroboros Barrier was created and the majority of demons were sealed in the Underworld, most cardinal devils escaped the same fate as they dwell in the first Ring of Hellwhere the majority of devils and daemon lived.
When the Three Factions ended the war with a mutual cease fire, the cardinal devils retreated back to the Netherworld where the remaining demons were and helped them to fake their deaths and hide their survival. However, due to conflicting opinions, a small war broke out between them, known only in small passings as the “War of the Little Kings”, in which the cardinal devils separated into two small groups with different agendas: One in full support of unleashing the demons from the Underworld, while the other strives to seek peace in a post-Great War world.
Following the Devil Civil War, to hold control over the new Four Great Satans, the aggressive side decided to form their own political faction within the new devil government. They manipulated their children and descendants into believing this was to protect the “pureblood traditions and values” to form the Great King Faction, and made themselves the secret rulers of the Netherworld.
The lesser evils!
Do you remember my statement earlier when I said that that Cardinal Demons created the jinns? Well that’s not the full story. Belial, Beleth, Asmodai, who are also associated with the Cardinals are also identified as “the lesser evils” in Christianity. These “Cardinal” beings were created as the direct result of the creation of the banes of humanity; (Read my blog on the Chaoskampf fort further info)!
If we identify these cambion evils as the nephilim offspring of the lesser evils mating with human woman then we have a biblical explanation for the existentce of these jinn-like demons.
*Please read my blog on the weeping angels and Archdemon Azazel to learn about the full story of these being through the book of Enoch.

Lucifer became so impressed with his own beauty, intelligence, power, and position that he began to desire for himself the honor and glory that belonged to God alone. This pride represents the actual beginning of sin in the universe—preceding the fall of the human Adam by an indeterminate time.
The story of Lucifer’s fall is described in two key Old Testament chapters; Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14; Let’s briefly look at both of these.
It would seem from the context of Ezekiel 28 that the first ten verses of this chapter are dealing with a human leader. Then, starting in verse 11 and on through verse 19, Lucifer is the focus of the discussion:
“Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord GOD: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have come to a dreadful end and shall be no more forever.” (Ezekiel 28:11-19)
What is the rationale for the conclusion that these latter verses refer to the fall of Lucifer? Whereas the first ten verses in this chapter speak about the ruler of Tyre (who was condemned for claiming to be a god though he was just a man), the discussion moves to the king of Tyre starting in verse 11. Many scholars believe that though there was a human “ruler” of Tyre, the real “king” of Tyre was Satan, for it was he who was ultimately at work in this anti-God city and it was he who worked through the human ruler of the city.
Now, there are things that are true of this “king” that—at least ultimately—can not be said to be true of human beings. For example, the king is portrayed as having a different nature from man (he is a cherub, verse 14); he had a different position from man (he was blameless and sinless, verse 15); he was in a different realm from man (the holy mount of God, verses 13,14); he received a different judgment from man (he was cast out of the mountain of God and thrown to the earth, verse 16); and the superlatives used to describe him don’t seem to fit that of a normal human being (“full of wisdom,” “perfect in beauty,” and having “the seal of perfection,” verse 12).
Our text tells us that this king was a created being and left the creative hand of God in a perfect state, (Ezekiel 28:12-15). He remained perfect in his ways until iniquity was found in him (Ezekiel 28:15). What was this iniquity ? We read in Ezekiel 28:17 this:
“Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.”
Lucifer apparently became so impressed with his own beauty, intelligence, power, and position that he began to desire for himself the honor and glory that belonged to God alone. The sin that corrupted Lucifer was self-generated pride.
Apparently, this represents the actual beginning of sin in the universe—preceding the fall of the human Adam by an indeterminate time. Sin originated in the free will of Lucifer in which, with a full understanding of the issues involved, he chose to rebel against God.
This mighty angelic being was rightfully judged by God:
I threw you to the earth” (Ezekiel 28:18).
This doesn’t mean that Lucifer had no further access to heaven, for other Scripture verses clearly indicate that Satan maintained this access even after his fall (Job 1:6-12; Zechariah 3:1,2).
However, Ezekiel 28:18 indicates that Lucifer was absolutely and completely cast out of God’s heavenly government and his place of authority (Luke 10:28).
Isaiah 14 verses 12 through 17, is another Old Testament passage that may refer to the fall of Lucifer. We must be frank in admitting that some Bible scholars see no reference whatsoever to Lucifer in this passage. It is argued that the being mentioned in this verse is referred to as a man (Isaiah 14:16); is compared with other kings on the earth (verse 18); and the words, “How you have fallen from heaven” (verse 12), is alleged to refer to a fall from great political heights.
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. Those who see you will stare at you and ponder over you: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world like a desert and overthrew its cities, who did not let his prisoners go home?’ (Isaiah 14:12-17)
There are other scholars who interpret this passage as referring only to the fall of Lucifer, with no reference whatsoever to a human king. The argument here is that the description of this being is beyond humanness and hence could not refer to a mere mortal man.
It is significant that the language used to describe this fits other passages in the Bible that speak about Satan. For example, the five “I wills” in Isaiah 14 indicates an element of pride, which was also evidenced in Ezekiel 28:17 (1 Timothy 3:6 which makes reference to Lucifer’s conceit).
As a result of this heinous sin against God, Lucifer was banished from living in heaven (Isaiah 14:12). He became corrupt, and his name changed from Lucifer (“morning star”) to Satan (“adversary”). His power became completely perverted (Isaiah 14:1,16,17). And his destiny, following the second coming of Christ, is to be bound in a pit during the 1000-year millennial kingdom over which Christ will rule (Revelation 20:3), and eventually will be thrown into the lake of fire (Matthew 25:41).
The garden of Eden!
In the biblical narrative, Lucifer, who later became known as Satan, was not explicitly depicted as hating Adam and Eve. Instead, his actions were driven by a desire to undermine God’s authority and corrupt creation. His motivations were centered on his own rebellion against God, and Adam and Eve became targets because of his wider agenda.
So then why did Lucifer target Eve and not Adam in his temptation in the Garden of Eden?
To begin, Lucifer has a diabolic hatred for male and female, because Scripture tells us they were made in God’s image after God’s likeness (Gen 1:26) and they were called to become one flesh (Gen 2:24). St John Paul II called the union of man and woman the primordial (or original) sacrament. In the beginning, prior to the fall into sin, male and female were the only sacrament or visible sign of the invisible reality of God (see TOB 98:3).
If Lucifer hates God, is it any wonder that he hates the visible sign of the divine mystery (man and woman) with so much passion and fury?
As the highest ranking angel at the time, and the mediator between Adam and god, Lucifer tempted Adam and Eve in the garden because one of his primary goals was to destroy the communion of man and woman. The family, as St John Paul II says, is an image of the Communion found in God (see TOB 9:3) and so Satan aimed his arrows right here. To do this, Satan strategically attacks both the man and the woman in their respective roles in imaging God.
Let’s examine “their respective roles in imaging God”. Our sexual identity as male and female, maleness and femaleness, are revealed through the body. I am a man not because I ‘feel’ like a man, but because I have a male body. Our sexual identity reveals a specific mission and manner of loving in the image of God. Our sexual difference makes sense only in light of our calling to become one flesh and be fruitful and multiply. It is through our sexual difference that our mission to love is revealed and distinguished. The man gives the seed outside of his body, and the woman receives the seed and conceives new life inside of her body. This is of great theological significance.
Within the “spousal analogy” John Paul II makes clear that God is the Bridegroom and humanity is the bride. God is the lover who gives the gift of His Divine Life and Love to us, his Bride, in the hope that we would freely receive (and nurture) that gift from Him inside of us. John Paul II says that because of this, woman is the model and archetype of the whole human race. Woman represents most perfectly, because of the manner in which she is called to love, what it means to be human We could even say that woman is the icon of receptivity in the world.
It is for this reason that Satan aims his diabolic attack at the human race, towards Eve, who is the model of all humanity. Satan knew that if Eve were tempted to disobey God, she would receive and nurture this lie, and in doing so, man and woman would reject their posture of receptivity and trust in God as their Father. Satan did not tempt the woman because she was the weaker of the sexes. This is a grave misunderstanding of the dignity of woman.
Interestingly, by tempting Eve, Satan strategically tempts Adam and his mission. Why? Adam was given the clear command from God to ‘till and keep’ the garden. This accurately translates to ‘serve and protect, or defend’ the garden and everything in it, including his bride, Eve. Where was Adam, the protector of his wife and the garden, when Eve was being tempted? He was standing right there, and he failed to step in and defend his wife from Satan. He allowed the serpent to enter the garden and confuse his wife while he was silent. He did not step in to support her when she was confused and put words in God’s mouth (see Gen 3:3). He watched her take the fruit and eat of it, then received it from her to eat afterwards (Gen 3:6). This is a tragic example of fallen manhood, and it was just as much the fault of Adam as it was of Eve to commit the Original Sin.
Satan knew that by tempting Eve as the model of humanity, he was also attacking Adam’s mission to be the protector and defender of his bride. Satan attacked Adam and Eve as a married couple, as an icon of the Communion of God in their respective ways of imaging God. This brought destruction to the primordial sacrament of marriage, which ruptured the male-female relationship and destroyed man’s posture of receptivity before God.
Lucifer’s corruption of Cain!
Let’s start with Cain, the brother of able! No, I’m not taking about the serpent seed doctrine; that’s actually a false doctrine; and a gross misunderstanding of what scriptures actually say.
First off all, let us intently take note of how Jesus Christ described Satan the Devil in John 8:44. In John 8:13 we see that Christ was talking to the lawyers of his time, the murderous, unbelieving Pharisees. He excoriated them in these words at John 8:44:
“You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth because truth, because the truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie].”
The Devil lied to Adam and Eve by stating that they would not die if they consumed the “forbidden fruit” in the Garden of Eden. Jehovah God said they would die, and Adam and Eve did grow old and died, but not before passing on the legacy of sin and resultant death to the entire human race who came after them-their descendants. In effect, Satan the Devil murdered or slayed our first ancestors Adam and Eve and by extension all of us. We all sin and die!
The apostle John was inspired to write years later regarding Cain, the first-born son of Adam, as recorded at 1 John 3:10-12 (quoting from the “New English Bible):
“That is the distinction between the children of God and the children of the devil: no one who does not do right is God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love his brother. For the message you have heard from the beginning is this: that we should love one another; unlike Cain, who was a child of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were wrong, and his brother’s were right.”
Cain thus became a son of the Devil because he murdered his brother Abel, (out of jealousy for the love of able’s wife and his offering to god); just like his spiritual father Satan the Devil who murdered Adam and Eve and the entire human race that descended from them, including all of us who are alive today.
The murder of Able!
Cain and Abel, sons of Adam and Eve, are the first pair of siblings described in the Torah. They had a rocky relationship that culminated in a heated quarrel, which ended with Cain murdering his younger brother. Their story is recorded in Genesis, but aside from an account of their birth, their bringing an offering to God and Cain’s horrifying murder of Abel, the Torah’s description of their lives is brief and cryptic.
In the midrash, (An interpretation of the Tanakh), They each married the sister born with them. (Although generally forbidden, God permitted this union of siblings so that the world would become populated).
One spring, on the 14th of Nissan, Adam told his sons that their descendants were going to offer sacrifices to God on this day (the Paschal offering), and suggested they do the same.
Cain, being a farmer, collected a portion of second-rate produce and offered it up to God and Abel, a shepherd, brought an offering of his own in the form of a sheep.
God accepted Abel’s offering, sending a fire from heaven to consume it, but ignored Cain’s. This was because Abel offered his finest sheep, whereas Cain offered inferior produce.
” Genesis 4:3: In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord.
Genesis 4:4: And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor.
Genesis 4:5: So Cain was very angry, and his face fell”
When Cain saw that God ignored his offering, he became frustrated and angry. God reprimanded him for his unjustified anger and measly offering, warning him that the evil inclination “crouches by the door,” waiting to be let in so it can cause a man to sin. He encouraged him to overcome his evil inclination and repent.
What happened was that Cain and Abel disagreed as to what exactly God wanted for an offering. Abel felt that it didn’t matter what type of species he offered, as long as it was top quality. Therefore he did not bring from the best species of animal, but he did bring the best of his sheep. Cain, on the other hand, felt that God wouldn’t care for the quality of the offering, so long as it was from the best species.
Both points of view were justified, and neither was held accountable for his initial reasoning. However, when God demonstrated that he preferred Abel’s offering, indicating that his line of thinking was correct, Cain should have accepted the fact happily and brought a new offering in the correct manner. His sin was that he refused to admit he was wrong, instead growing angry and blaming others.
Cain found a scapegoat for his anger in his brother Abel. Instead of turning introspective and repenting, he developed a terrible hatred for his brother.
Shortly after the episode of the offerings, Cain met Abel in the field and they began quarreling. Our sages give us a few possible reasons they argued:
They argued over who would marry their other sister
They argued over offerings
The argument turned violent, and they began to hit each other.
Since Cain’s worldview was that the world did not exist, it followed that there was no such thing as good or bad flax. In his understanding, there was no such thing as better or worse physicality. Everything was simply Godliness. Therefore, he did not feel it necessary to bring the best quality flax for his offering. For Cain did not take the world into consideration, in his mind it simply did not exist. Perhaps this also explains why Cain murdered Abel. When God ignored Cain’ s offering and preferred Abel’s, Cain should have accepted that his path was wrong and corrected it.
This was the true problem with his flax offering and the philosophy that left him incapable of dealing with his inner evil.
God called out to Cain, asking him where his brother was, hoping Cain would admit to his sin and repent. Cain feigned ignorance and said arrogantly:
“I do not know. Am I my brother’s guardian?”
God lambasted Cain, telling him how the blood of all Abel’s future descendants calls out to Him, demanding retribution. Cain’s punishment was that he was to wander the earth, a nomad with no permanent home, and he struggle to work the land. Cain regretted his terrible deed and told God that his sin was too great to bear, and that he was afraid that he would get killed.
God assured Cain that no one would harm him and promised that whoever killed him would be cursed. Retribution would only come seven generations later. God placed a sign on Cain so that everyone would know not to kill him.
Afterwards Cain moved to Nod with his wife; (former sister of able), had a son and named him Enoch. He then built a city and named it after his son.
One day, Lemech, who was blind, went hunting with his son, Tubal Cain. Because Lemech was blind, his son would tell him where to aim his bow, and Lemech would shoot. Tubal Cain noticed an animal moving in the forest. He directed his father and Lemech let an arrow fly, killing the beast. Approaching the “animal” he realized that it was none other than Cain. When he told his father what he had just done; And he (Lemech) raised his hands together in grief, mistakenly striking his son Tubal Cain dead between his palms. According to the tradition that God placed a horn on Cain’s head, it is understandable why Tubal Cain mistook him, (Cain), for an animal.
The influence of Lucifer on Cain’s life is certainly an interesting one; but nonetheless, a traject one.
The war in heaven!
Lucifer was once an angel (precisely the anointed cherub that covers, Ezek. 28:14) described verily as the son of the morning. He has become a profane thing because he fell in love with his glory and beauty and wisdom; he eminently became proud and self-centered. His prideful rebellion was demonstrated by five (5) “I will” statements against God. The five statements that Lucifer made as recorded in Isaiah 14:13-14 are;
1. I will ascend into heaven
2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
3. I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest side of the north
4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
5. I will be like the Most High
These words of Lucifer were from the abundance of his heart (or were the exact intentions of his heart). Many people including believers are self-centered and full of pride; thinking about themselves only. All they care for is things directly related to them. This attitude must be done away with. The Bible says:
“Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.” (Prov. 16:5)
In the book of revelation we learn that Lucifer had corrupted 1/3 of the angels in heaven. See below:
“Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.” (Revelation 12:4)
As a result, Satan is a fallen, but powerful, spirit-being with a well-organized network of demon powers to help him accomplish his purposes. Those purposes, according to Jesus, are to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10).
That’s the bad news. The good news is that two-thirds of the angels are on our side! As the prophet Elisha said to his servant, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16 NKJV).
Also remember that Revelation 6:15 gives us greater details the extent of Lucifer’s army:
“13. stars falling out of the sky like figs shaken from a tree in a high wind,
14. sky snapped shut like a book, islands and mountains sliding this way and that.
15. And then pandemonium, everyone and his dog running for cover – kings, princes, generals, rich and strong, along with every commoner, slave or free. They hid in mountain caves and rocky dens,
16. calling out to mountains and rocks, “Refuge! Hide us from the One Seated on the Throne and the wrath of the Lamb!
17. The great Day of their wrath has come – who can stand it?”
Lucifer’s corruption of the Watchers!
Lucifer, along with Azazel, (like I pointed out in the book of Enoch, regarding it’s historicity to the biblical cannon), Lucifer, also known as Samyaza, is depicted as leading a group of angels called the “Watchers” who descend to Earth and become corrupted. They become enamored with human women, disobey God’s commands, and teach humans forbidden knowledge and sorcery, leading to a decline in moral standards and the appearance of giants.
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:4)
What we learn in this passages context is that The Watchers become corrupted by their lust for human women, leading to sexual unions and the birth of giants. These are the “Fallen Angels”. These angels are also referred to as the “Watchers”. Apparently, they had the task of watching over mankind and they could not control their lustful urges when they saw how beautiful human women were.
The Book of Enoch, which was preserved by the Ethiopian Christian Church and recently also found among the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran, tells us much more information about these “Fallen Angels” and what took place.
There are between 18 and 24 books mentioned in the Bible by name or through direct quotes that are not a part of the actual 66 books we know as the canon. These books are known as “Deuterocanonical” or 2nd canon. Among these books is the Book of Enoch and it is quoted in the book of Jude. (Please read my blog on the weeping angels for further information on this)
It is important to understand that because these particular “Deuterocanonical” books are used as an “expert witness” by the Holy Spirit, there is no doubt that they are extremely important. If you were writing a book and urged your readers to go to another book as reference to support yours or you quoted from another book, that would mean that you had great respect for the other book and its author.
“[Genesis 6:11] The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
[Genesis 6:12] So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
[Genesis 6:13] And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence throughl them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
These are the quotes from Jude and Enoch which tie the two together:
“[Jude 1:14] Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
[Jude 1:15] to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
[Enoch 1:9] And behold! He comes with ten thousand Holy Ones; to execute judgment upon them and to destroy the impious, and to contend with all flesh concerning everything that the sinners and the impious have done and wrought against Him.”
If I’m being completely honest, Because of its importance, I am listing chapters 6 – 8 from The Book of Enoch for you to review. Please note that these fallen angels are the ones who taught mankind how to make weapons, how to perform abortions, how to do witchcraft and sorcery, astrology, makeup and jewelry, and much more. If you think about it, the spells and incantations that are performed by witches and sorcerers are so incredibly complicated, no one could have ever figured them out accidentally.
“Excerpt From The Book of Enoch:
[Enoch 6:1] And it came to pass, when the sons of men had increased, that in those days there were born to them fair and beautiful daughters.
[Enoch 6:2] And the Angels, the sons of Heaven, saw them and desired them. And they said to one another: “Come, let us choose for ourselves wives, from the children of men, and let us beget, for ourselves, children.”
[Enoch 6:3] And Semyaza, who was their leader, said to them:
“I fear that you may not wish this deed to be done and that I alone will pay for this great sin.”
[Enoch 6:4] And they all answered him, and said:
“Let us all swear an oath, and bind one-another with curses, so not to alter this plan, but to carry out this plan effectively.”
[Enoch 6:5] Then they all swore together and all bound one another with curses to it.
[Enoch 6:6] And they were, in all, two hundred and they came down on Ardis, which is the summit of Mount Hermon. And they called the mountain Hermon because on it they swore and bound one another with curses.
[Enoch 6:7] And these are the names of their leaders: Semyaza, who was their leader, Urakiba, Ramiel, Kokabiel, lamiel, Ramiel, Daniel, Ezeqiel, Baraqiel, Asael, Armaros Batriel, Ananel, Zaqiel, Samsiel, Satael, Turiel, Yomiel, Araziel.
[Enoch 6:8] These are the leaders of the two hundred Angels and of all the others with them.
[Enoch 7:1] And they took wives for themselves and everyone chose for himself one each. And they began to go into them and were promiscuous with them. And they taught them charms and spells, and they showed them the cutting of roots and trees.
[Enoch 7:2] And they became pregnant and bore large giants. And their height was three thousand cubits.
[Enoch 7:3] These devoured all the toil of men; until men were unable to sustain them.
[Enoch 7:4] And the giants turned against them in order to devour men.
[Enoch 7:5] And they began to sin against birds, and against animals, and against reptiles, and against fish, and they devoured one another’s flesh, and drank the blood from it.
[Enoch 7:6] Then the Earth complained about the lawless ones.
[Enoch 8:1] And Azazel taught men to make swords, and daggers, and shields, and breastplates. And he showed them the things after these, and the art of making them; bracelets, and ornaments, and the art of making up the eyes, and of beautifying the eyelids, and the most precious stones, and all kinds of coloured dyes. And the world was changed.
[Enoch 8:2] And there was great impiety, and much fornication, and they went astray, and all their ways became corrupt.
[Enoch 8:31 Amezarak taught all those who cast spells and cut roots, Armaros the release of spells, and Baraqiel astrologers, and Kokabiel portents, and Tamiel taught astrology, and Asradel taught the path of the Moon.
[Enoch 8:4] And at the destruction of men they cried out; and their voices reached Heaven.
Now, having heard the Genesis story as well as the supporting information from the Book of Enoch, I think I’ve made a pretty solid case for the corruption of humanity before the great flood of Noah’s days.
The corruption of Man and the flood
God specifically mentions the world before the flood as being full of violence. This violence was the natural consequence of sin. Human nature during this time was motivated by evil and brutality. This truly was a terrible time to be alive.
“Genesis 6:5-7 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
“Genesis 6:11-13 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
Let’s go ahead and highlight some of the evidence that supports the contention that men were morally bankrupt.
#1. Cannibalism:
There is much evidence that Neanderthal man practiced cannibalism. Evidence for this practice has been found in various fossil sites. One of the most important sites was the Krapina fossil site in Croatia. Some anthropologists felt that this site yielded evidence for cannibalism.
#2. Cannibalism at the Moula-Guercy Cave Site:
A French and American team digging at this Neanderthal site in France has unearthed grisly evidence of cannibalism. The Neanderthals at this site were expert hunters. They expertly butchered carcasses of deer, goats, and possibly even woolly rhinoceros. Using stone implements they dismembered and defleshed their kills.
#3. Dietary Habits of Early Man:
Another manner in which early man was corrupted was in his dietary intake. The Bible indicates that certain foods were not fit for human consumption. They are outlined in various places in the scriptures, including; Leviticus 11:1-30, Deuteronomy 14:3-21, Acts 10:11-14, Acts 11:5-8, Acts 15:29, and many others. The basic premise behind these scriptures is that land animals that do not chew the cud and do not have split hooves are not to be eaten. These animals were considered unclean. Animals that chew the cud and have split hooves were considered clean and they were allowed for human food. These dietary laws have existed since before the flood as evidenced when Noah was commanded to bring the clean animals into the ark by sevens, and unclean animal only by twos.
The fossil record of early man indicates that not only was cannibalism common, but also that men were eating mainly unclean animals. This eating of unclean foods would affect the bone structure of some of the early specimens of fossil men that have been unearthed. This bone structure would be evident in the fossil record. Considering that the Biblical record indicates that early man lived for long periods of time, the effects of this diet would be compounded for hundreds of years.
Since society at this time was rebellious toward God and was rapidly sliding into depravity, the food laws of God would not have been observed. Below are a few examples of the improper foods that humanity was eating, and some of the physical effects this diet would have on human morphology.
#4. The Eating of Blood:
The eating of blood, human and animal, was a widespread practice. The fossil record from various Neanderthal, Homo erectus, and early Homo sapien fossil sites is very interesting. Many of the human and animal bones show signs of having been broken open. They would be broken open in order to extract the marrow. Marrow is a fatty high-energy substance rich in blood cells. The bones were broken open by being placed on a large anvil stone and then being hit with a smaller hand held stone called a hammer. This hammer and anvil method would leave telltale signs on the bones. Also the bones would fragment in certain predictable patterns. Both of these skeletal clues show that the opening of bones for the extraction of marrow was a common practice.
#5. Neanderthal Trauma and Injuries:
The Biblical record states, “…the earth was filled with violence.” This violence would entail physical violence against each other. This type of violent behavior is supported by the fossil record as evidenced by the trauma evident on many early man fossils.
So what’s our conclusion on this? The fossil record of early man supports what the book of Genesis indicates. During this time period cannibalism was common. The wholesale slaughter and murder of men is expressed in the cast off fossil remnants laying on the trash heap of many an excavated site. The bones of fellow human beings were butchered, cut apart, and then cast into garbage pits where they mixed with rotting pig, elephant, and wolf carcasses.
Pre-flood man had no respect for the laws of God. The simple dietary laws given by God were constantly and consistently violated. Men were consumers of carrion, carnivores, and blood. This unhealthy diet affected their bone structure and probably led to many degenerative diseases. The longevity of men would allow a filthy diet to wreak havoc on bones and tissues for hundreds of years.
The skeletal remains of the fossil record shows that H. erectus, H. neanderthalensis, and H. sapiens were living in violent societies. The world had become corrupted and filled with violence and God saw that the only solution was the extermination of the human race. It is no wonder that the sixth chapter of the book of Genesis states; “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
The world was also filled with violence, hatred, murder, polygamy, slavery, theft, adultery and many other evil things.
Lucifer’s role in the Babel Event!
The Tower of Babel was a tower built during the construction of the city of Babel, or which would later become the influential city of Babylon, which would be the capital of Babylonia.
The purpose of the Tower was for the people constructing Babel to be able to give honor to themselves in order to keep themselves from scattering across the earth, planning for the tower to reach the skies and pierce Heaven itself.
In the aftermath of the Flood, Nimrod would attempt to replicate this golden kingdom, but his ambition led him to make this monument stand equal to the heavens themselves. Thus, Nimrod commissioned humanity into building a single, centralized location, where he reigned over them by wearing Adam and Eve’s garments, a sign of supreme nobility over all mankind and soon the celestial realm.
This show of arrogance did not go unnoticed nor did it sit well with Heaven. In addition, the angels realized that this great tower would serve as a physical container for the Axis Mundi that would slip into the material plane due to the effects of the Convergence. This would allow the humans to walk up towards Heaven and even worse, the demons of Hell will be among them. In response, God ordered the Heavenly Host led by the archangel Michael to descend to the Earth and destroy this mountainous tower before the Almighty Himself caused confusion in the languages and made it difficult for humanity collaborate among themselves.
After the disruption in language, humanity separated into individual groups scattering the Earth and setting up separate civilizations leaving the city to be temporarily abandoned.
A demon known as Pruflas is also said to reside within or around the vicinity of the tower like a flame, endlessly scouring the walls of the construct in order to find the proper information on how to raid the gates of Heaven until Judgement Day.
The conspiracy theory that Babel is related to the four towers of the world!
It’s claimed that Lucifer ordered both Mammon and Mulciber, the architects of Hell, to guide the humans into building the four towers.
The provided claim describes a scenario from fictional works, possibly related to religious or mythological themes. While the specific context is unclear without additional information, this narrative likely explores themes of temptation, divine opposition, and the potential for humans to be led astray through building projects or symbols of power. The names Mammon and Mulciber, along with Lucifer, are common in religious and mythological literature, suggesting a scenario where humans are being manipulated or influenced by forces of evil or darkness.
My personal take on this claim is that The four towers represents the Four Corners of the World or the the Four Quarters of the World. Thisis a cosmological and mythological system that corresponds approximately to the four points of the compass (or the two solstices and two equinoxes) of the earth.
The Four Corners play a role in the Apocalypse as they are in fact where the roots of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil will sprout with the tree itself emerging from the center of compass in the Earth. The Tree of Knowledge will grow from a tell (a mound or hill created by many generations of people living and rebuilding at the same spot) that is located in Megiddo which is the prophesied battle of Armageddon.
In order this to be a biblical concept, four towers equivalent to the Tower of Babylon would need to be constructed and then later buried beneath the earth of where they would be stationed; (ie. in the four points of the world’s compass).
The reason why they were built and stationed within the four points is that it is believed that the four all connect as roadways that will be exposed through the Convergence to the center of the planet where the Firmament is located and leads to Paradise. Moreover, the four corners represent the alchemical or cosmological aspects that make up the Earth as a whole.
The exact locations of these four corners is unknown, but in Christianity and Judaism, the Old Testament (Book of Genesis, Genesis 2:8–14) identifies the Garden of Eden, and the four rivers as the Tigris, Euphrates, Pishon, and Gihon. The Tigris runs to Assyria, the Euphrates to Armenia, the Pishon to Havilah or Elam, and the Gihon to Ethiopia. The four corners of the earth are also spoken of in the Book of Revelation 7:1.
Another possibility is that the four corners are in fact the four continents of the Earth. Europeans in the 16th century divided the world into four continents: Africa, America, Asia and Europe. Each of the four continents was seen to represent its quadrant of the world; Europe in the north, Asia in the east, Africa in the south, and America in the west. This division fit the Renaissance sensibilities of the time, which also divided the world into four seasons, four classical elements, four cardinal directions, four classical virtues, etc.
The four corners of the earth spoken of in the Book of Revelation 7:1 might serve as the only scriptural based for the claim that Lucifer had 4 worldly towers built. In order for this concept to work, it would need to be apart of Lucifer’s plan of bringing a New World Order, but more specifically, the towers serve as a way to channel and guide the roots of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
The addition of the Seven towers of Lucifer!
The truth is that Lucifer’s towers are not actually located in the real world.
The whole ensemble of dangers that corrode the most intimate structures of society can be identified in revealing the ancestral nature of humanity under the auspices of Augustine of Hippo. Evil as organic coordinate of Adam Kadmon manifests itself resoundingly in various hypostasis and its trigger at the macro-global spatial level occurs under the influence of the intense pulsating nuclei of malefic emanation identified by René Guenon as centers of counter-initiation under the name of the Seven Towers of Satan.
Although these Houses of Power could stand for an anthropological structure of the imaginary the historical reality which we are faced is confirming the reanimation of centrifugal forces that influences the geopolitical restructuring of the world by deploying in the analyzed incidence area engines of radial, ever spreading belicchaos projected all the way into Europe and engaging all the great world powers (i.e. USA, Russia).
Thusly, we set out on proving, in the analyzed geographical area, through a hamartiologycal approach, the existence of Ancestral Evil going all the way back to the empire of Nimrod to the present day.
The lands that are indentified as housing the Seven Towers of Satan whose spatial topology forms la Grande Ourse (Sudan, Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Caucasus, Siberia).
The Seven Towers of Satan, believed to be seven locations on earth are also connected to the negative spiritual realm; and have long intrigued people interested in the esoteric and mystical world. They are often associated with ley lines and high places, concepts related to supernatural events in Earth’s ancient past and end-time prophecy. These towers, also referred to as “Mesopotamian” or “central,” are considered the antithesis of the seven aktab, or pillars, in the Sufi tradition. They symbolize locations with a reversed emblem, deemed power centers linking black magicians to the Prince of Darkness. These towers are the foundation for counter-initiation centers led by “saints of Satan,” who venerate the devil and herald the arrival of the Antichrist.
Six additional towers also exist; in Syria’s mountainous region, known as the “land of the Ismaili Aga Khans” among other alleged sects, and in the mountains of central Sudan, Niger, Turkestan, the Urals, and the Ob River basins.
Take René Guénon, who was a French philosopher; he theorized that the existence of seven “towers of Satan,” emited intense negative energy. He posited that these towers were the sites where fallen angels came down to Earth. The energy from these sites is said to enable contact with malevolent forces that have the potential to dominate the world.
Lucifer’s role in Egypt!
In ancient Egypt, Lucifer was known as the Egyptian God Set. The inscriptions call him “the powerful one of Thebes,” and “Ruler of the South. Set is often contrasted with Osiris. Set was the deity of the desert, of drought and feverish thirst, and of the sterile ocean; Osiris represents moisture, the Nile, the fertilising powers and life. As an enemy to life, Set is identified with all destruction. He is the waning of the moon, the decrease of the waters of the Nile, and the setting of the sun. Thus he was called the left or black eye of the decreasing sun, governing the year from the summer solstice to the winter solstice, which is contrasted with the right or bright eye of Hor, the increasing sun, which symbolises the growth of life and the spread of light from the winter solstice to the summer solstice.
Further, we know that a great temple was devoted to Set, as the god of war, in Tanis, near the swamps between the eastern branches of the Delta, an important town of the frontier, and during the time of invasion the probable seat of the foreign dominion of the Hyksos and the Hyttites.
There is an old wall-picture of Karnak, belonging to the era of the eighteenth dynasty, in which the god Set appears as an instructor of King Thothmes III. in the science of archery.
Sety I., the second king of the nineteenth dynasty, the shepherd kings, derives his name from the god Seta sign of the high honor in which he was held among the shepherd kings; and indeed we are informed that they regarded Set, or Sutech, as the only true God, the sole deity, who alone was worthy of receiving divine honors.
If the time of the shepherd kings is to be identified with the settlement of Jacob’s sons in Egypt, and if the monotheism of the Hyksos is the root of Moses’s religion, what food for thought lies in the fact that the same awe of a fearful power that confronts us in life, changes among the Egyptians into the demonology of Set, and among the Israelites into the cult of Yahveh?
The double, just as if it were alive, is supposed to be in need of food and drink, which is provided for by incantations. Magic formulas satisfy the hunger and thirst of the double in the tomb, and frustrate, through invocations of the good deities, all the evil intentions of Set and his host. The dread of hunger, thirst, and other ills, or even of destruction which their double might suffer in the tomb, was a perpetual source of fearful anticipations to every pious Egyptian. The anxiety to escape the tortures of their future state led to the embalming of the dead and to the building of the pyramids.
What were can all learn from this is that Lucifer was heavily influence within the Egyptian culture.
Conclusion:
There is just so much I could discuss , however, I’m just going to keep it very simple. As you can see, Lucifer had a major influence on the world that we read about in the old testament, specifically within the book of Genesis.

In Demonology, Astaroth is considered to be the Great Duke of hell. He is described as a male figure, most likely named after the unrelated Near eastern goddess Astarte.
The name “Astaroth” as a male demon is first seen in the book of. Abramelin, purportedly written in Hebrew c. 1458, and recurred in most Occult Grimoires of the following centuries. Astaroth also features as an Archdemon associated with the Qlippoth (adverse forces) according to later Kabbalistic texts, as he rules over the qlippa of Jupiter, known as Gha’agsheblah.
The Archdemon Astaroth is a great and strong duke, coming forth in the shape of a foul angel, sitting upon an infernal dragon, and carrying on his left hand a viper. He is also claimed to rule over 40 legions of demons. He is similarly referred to in the 17th-century work the lesser key of Solomon.
he is a demon of the First Hierarchy, who seduces by means of laziness, self-doubt, and rationalized philosophies. His adversary is St. Bartholome, who can protect against him for he has resisted Astaroth’s “temptations”. To others, he teaches mathematical sciences and handicrafts, can make men invisible and lead them to hidden treasures, and answers every question formulated to him. He was also said to give to mortal beings the power over serpents. Astaroth is also the prince of accusers and inquisitors
He was also mentioned as a co-signatory of a Diabolical pact with Urban Grandier.
Astaroth is also the twenty-ninth spirit listed in the Ars Goetia. He is an exceptionally powerful Duke of Hell assisted by four demons: Aamon, Barbatos, Rasheverak, and Pruflas.
The fall of Astroth
According to Judaic lore, he was a high-ranking angel, either one of the Seraphim or a prince of Thrones, prior to his fall. Astaroth, like many of the fallen angels that fell from Heaven, I was an angel that resided in Paradise. Due to his position, he was highly ranked amongst the choir of angels as he would see to the carrying of God’s throne.
However, he found himself joining Lucifer’s side during the war in heaven, and was cast down to Hell alongside all other rebel-angels. He was present at the Pandemonium during Lucifer’s rally, officially declaring himself as an enemy of God forever.
After Lucifer and his rebel brothers conquered Hell while newly establishing it as their own kingdom a hierarchy was formed during the process with Astaroth aiding in the decreeing of noble positions as a prince of accusers and inquisitors. Hell would ultimately be ruled by the three supreme monarchs known as the Satanic Triumvirate, which consisted of Lucifer, Beelzebub and Astroth.
The Unholy Trinity?
The Unholy Trinity, also called the False Trinity, is a triad formed by the Devil, the Trihexa and the Divus, with the intention of copying the divine and perfect Trinity of the Almighty God. Just as God has a trinity formed by God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, the Devil has his “version” of that trinity, intending to deceive people at the end of time by pretending to be God himself. Lucifer is the anti-God (or the dragon), the Trihexa is the anti-Christ (or the first beast) and the Divus is the anti-Holy Spirit (or the false prophet). This unholy trinity will persecute believers and deceive many others, resulting in their eternal death. Baphomet, Diablo, Asmodeus and beliel all act as agents in this scheme as well. It is believed by some to be symbolic of a union between three powerful demons to oppose God and the forces of Heaven during the apocalypse, resulting in the era known as the End Times – which in turn would lead to the battle of Armageddon and ultimately the Day of Judgment.
In The Book of Revelations, the Beast starts the End Battle by converting humans to his ways, and then the Beast moves among humans as one of them. The Beast and the False Prophet together rule the world with Satan, and all three have an empire which lasts the 7 years of the Tribulation. In that time, the Moon turns to blood, and stars fall and then the beast will be slained by the sword and then miraculously healed by the dragon.
In the final days of the reign, God defeats the Beast, the False Prophet, and the demons. The Beast and the False Prophet are captured and bound by Michael and cast into the Lake of Fire. Meanwhile, the Dragon, Satan, is bound by an angel with a great chain, and cast into the Bottomless Pit. (That would be Abaddon). After 1,000 years of imprisonment, they are then judged and thrown into the lake of fire.
Also note that These three would be above, and simultaneously be part of, the 7 kings of hell whom were the ruling body of the Inferno. Due to Astaroth’s influence and power he would be closely affiliated with the Seven Great Kings and the Triumvirate as well to the point where demonologists counted him among their number.
That does scripture say about Astroth?
Astaroth is a figure that appears in both the Bible and in demonology. In Christian Demonology, Astaroth is mentioned as one of the gods worshipped by the Canaanites. And as well as In the Book of Judges, Astaroth is claimed to as one of the deities that the Israelites turned to when they fell away from the worship of the one true God. In later some ancient literature, Astaroth is shown as a demon, and is associated with various sins and vices, including laziness, falsehood, and sexual immorality.
Astaroth represents a demonic entity and that its inclusion in the Bible reflects on the belief in the existence of demons and the power of evil. (I personally find this to be true)
Studying Astaroth is important for gaining a deeper understanding of the role of temptation and sin in human Christian theology. By exploring the various interpretations and debates surrounding Astaroth, we can gain insight into the ways in which different cultures and traditions have grappled with the concept of evil over time.

Within the context of the holy bible, the Angel of the Abyss is Abaddon. He is also depicted as the king of the locusts. Believe it or not, Abaddon isn’t actually evil. He is an Archangel that works for God. According to scriptures, Mashchith is the Angel of the first death and Abaddon is the Angel of the second death. Abaddon is the Angel of destruction!
Both Mashchith and Abaddon have similar rolls. Abaddon is the actual Angel Of Hell. He is also the Angel that caused the eighth plague of Egypt. Contrary to popular belief and total misunderstanding, the Angel of Destruction is NOT a Fallen Angel (just because you are the Destroyer, DOES NOT make you Evil!).
Unlike Mashchith that helps crosses spirits over, Abaddon is the youngest and the last of the Spirit sons of the Supreme Holy Creator Yahweh, the Most High, LORD, God Almighty. He is the TRUE keeper of She’ol (the Abyss, the Bottomless Pit, the Grave……HELL!), charged with overseeing the spirits of the Dead by God Himself until the mass Resurrection.
Abaddon is an Angel of the LORD, an Angelic being of a vast Army of Hypernatural Spirit Creatures known as the Locusts (Revelation 9:1-12). Abaddon is also the Fifth Rider/Horseman called “Hell” in Revelation 6:7-8, that comes with “Death” at the breaking of the 4th Seal.
The Abyssal Key
In Revelation chapter 20:1-3 we read further of the angel of the abyss:
“And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. He seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years. And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not mislead the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were ended. After this he must be released for a little while.”
If this angel of the abyss put Satan into the abyss then he could not be Satan. Further, since this act is a good thing then this angel is a good angel. But who has the power over this symbolic abyss?
His power with regard to the abyss is shown in the book of Luke chapter 8:29-31 where the demons plead with Jesus not to send them into the abyss. And at Revelation 1:18 where Jesus says: “I have the keys of death and of the Grave (or Hades).”
But is Jesus the same person as Abaddon? No! Jesus isn’t an angel as he’s apart of God. This means that Abaddon is a seperate being from Jesus. While some interpretations, like those by Jehovah’s Witnesses, suggest Abaddon is a name for Jesus after his resurrection, the common understanding of Abaddon is as the angel of the abyss. Abaddon is associated with destruction and torment, while Jesus is seen as a savior and a figure of hope.
Also note that Jesus is not an angel. While the Bible uses the term “Angel of the Lord” to refer to Jesus in certain contexts, it’s important to distinguish between Jesus’s divine nature and the nature of angels. Jesus is understood to be the eternal Son of God, co-equal with the Father, and through whom all things were created, including angels. The term “Angel of the Lord” is used to highlight Jesus’s pre-incarnate existence and his role as a messenger and mediator between God and humanity. so therefore he, (Jesus), cannot be Abaddon, the Angel of the abyss.
Also, Mashchith and Abaddon are distinct figures and NOT the same being either! They are sometimes confused or combined in certain interpretations, particularly in discussions about angels and demons. Mashchith is primarily known as the angel of death, while Abaddon is associated with the angel of the bottomless pit, the “Destroyer,” and an army of locusts.
I also want to make it very clear that Abaddon isn’t the Destroying angel from the 10 plagues of Egypt. He is only the Angel they caused the plagues of locust, while Mashchith; the Angel of death is responsible for the 10th plague, the Angel who was tasked with transporting the deceased Egyptians to their afterlife. There is nothing there that says he directly killed them!
Abaddon’s Heroic Deeds
He was known as the angel that personally banished the fallen angels under Lucifer after his (Lucifer) rebellion against God. Originally, Abaddon was the angel who had been given the task from God to collect from the earth to be used in the creation of Adam. After his creation, Abaddon was appointed as the Guardian of Adam.
Abaddon engaged in prayer and ultimately obtained the promise that any men who venerated him during their lifetime stood the chance of being saved.
Abaddon’s revelation
It is prophesied that he will command a monstrous horde from the Abyss known as the Locusts of Abaddon that will rampage over the earth in the tribulation period as Judgment approaches. They will be prohibited from killing any living creature by God once they have given the Seam of Lord, but they will torment the impure for five months, and the torture will be so horrible that mankind will try to kill themselves but “death will avoid them.”
So as you can clearly see from scriptures in the holy bible, again, Abaddon was never a fallen angel or an evil being, he is only commanded to destroy evil and torture the souls of hell.

The Weeping Angels are based on statues of angels crying in various churchyards throughout Europe.
The most famous of them all is The Angel Of Grief which was an 1894 sculpture by William Wetmore Story for the grave of his wife Emelyn Story at the Protestant Cemetery in Rome. Its full title bestowed by the creator was ‘The Angel of Grief Weeping Over the Dismantled Altar of Life.’
The Weeping Angels, from the “Doctor Who” universe, don’t have any explicit Christian origins, though their concept and imagery draw inspiration from both Christian and non-Christian sources. The inspiration for the Weeping Angels comes from a statue of an angel weeping that writer Steven Moffat saw on a holiday. The statue’s appearance and the idea that the angels can only move when unobserved drew from various sources, including Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle.
There have been theories about the biblical origins of the Weeping Angels such as The visual concept of the Weeping Angels as statues of angels is rooted in the biblical depiction of angels as messengers and guardians or The Weeping Angels, with their ability to teleport and feed on time energy, can be seen as a twisted version of fallen angels, who are depicted as rebels in Christian theology.
However, the truth is more shocking then you might think. Story himself wrote that “It represents the angel of Grief, in utter abandonment, throwing herself with drooping wings and hidden face over a funeral altar. It represents what I feel. It represents Prostration. Yet to do it helps me.”
Prominent replicas of the Angel of Grief sculpture include the Henry Lathrop monument, located in the Stanford University Arboretum.
Who is the Angel of Grief?
If we were to consider the weeping angels in this example as a single being then who would it be? Well the answer might surprise you. The Angel of Grief is in fact Archangel Azreal, or otherwise known as the death angel.
Archangel Azrael helps people when they’re dying and assists newly crossed-over souls adjust to the spiritual realm. Azrael is also there for you if you’re grieving a loss. You can ask him for comfort and strength in your grief.
If you help people who are healing from grief, you can call on Azrael to work with you and to protect your energy so that you don’t absorb others’ emotions.
It’s important to note that Azrael doesn’t just help with the final transition. If you’re going through any kind of change in life, you can call on Azrael for guidance.
So why is he the Angel of Grief? Well not only is hr is said to help those who have died transition into the afterlife. At the same time, he also comforts family and friends to help them overcome the grief caused by the death of said loved ones.
Are The fallen angels The weeping angels?
In this second example I’ll be exploring the idea that the fallen angels, (or the watchers), are actually the weeping angels.
Going back to Genesis 6:4, we learn that there were Giants in the earth in the days of Noah. These Giants, or otherwise known as the watchers became corrupted when they have forbidden knowledge to human kind; which ultimately led to their demise In Noah’s flood.
Even though the book of Enoch isn’t considered cannon to the bible, I do firmly take the same view as presented in the Ethiopian Bible. This Bible also contains other books excluded from standard versions, such as Esdras, Baruch and the books of Maccabees. These books are apart of the Deuterocanonical cannon, which also includes the bosok of Tobit, Judith, Ecclesiasticus and the book of Wisdom. Interestingly enough, this collection of books are indeed considered cannon to the bible.
What I admit about this bible translation is that The Ethiopic version of the Old and New Testament was made from the Greek Septuagint, the earliest translation from which our current translations come from.
But going back to the book of Enoch, in Chapter 19 verses 1-3, it expand on an incident mentioned in Genesis 6:1-2. It says:
“And Uriel said to me: ‘Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons as gods , (here shall they stand,) till the day of the great judgment in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of. And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.’ And I, Enoch, alone saw the vision, the ends of all things: and no man shall see as I have seen.”
Here the passage is expanded on quite a bit. It goes even further in Chapters 6 to 8, where Enoch says:
“And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.’ And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: ‘I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.’ And they all answered him and said: ‘Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’ Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And these are the names of their leaders: Samlazaz, their leader, Araklba, Rameel, Kokablel, Tamlel, Ramlel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, Asael, Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaq1el, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel. These are their chiefs of tens.
And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.
And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, ‘Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . .”
This stuff was apparently going on during Enoch’s lifetime. He came to the fallen angels who had married human wives in Chapter 13 and prophetically pronounced a judgment of God on them. The angels became afraid when they heard the judgment and they asked Enoch to intercede on their behalf. Enoch chapter 13, verses 3-7 describe this incident:
“Then I went and spoke to them all together, and they were all afraid, and fear and trembling seized them. And they besought me to draw up a petition for them that they might find forgiveness, and to read their petition in the presence of the Lord of heaven. For from thenceforward they could not speak (with Him) nor lift up their eyes to heaven for shame of their sins for which they had been condemned. Then I wrote out their petition, and the prayer in regard to their spirits and their deeds individually and in regard to their requests that they should have forgiveness and length. And I went off and sat down at the waters of Dan, in the land of Dan, to the south of the west of Hermon: I read their petition till I fell asleep.”
When Enoch is asleep, God meets him in a vision and denied the petition of the fallen angels — He refused to forgive them for their sins or to restore them to fellowship with God. Instead He gave Enoch a lengthy reprimand to deliver back to these fallen angels in chapters 14 and 15.
“Your petition will not be granted unto you throughout all the days of eternity, and that judgment has been finally passed upon you: yea (your petition) will not be granted unto you. And from henceforth you shall not ascend into heaven unto all eternity, and in bonds of the earth the decree has gone forth to bind you for all the days of the world. And (that) previously you shall have seen the destruction of your beloved sons and ye shall have no pleasure in them, but they shall fall before you by the sword. And your petition on their behalf shall not be granted, nor yet on your own: even though you weep and pray.”
Say to the Watchers of heaven, who have sent thee to intercede for them: “You should intercede” for men, and not men for you: Wherefore have ye left the high, holy, and eternal heaven, and lain with women, and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men and taken to yourselves wives, and done like the children of earth, and begotten giants (as your) sons? And though ye were holy, spiritual, living the eternal life, you have defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten (children) with the blood of flesh, and, as the children of men, have lusted after flesh and blood as those also do who die and perish.
Therefore have I given them wives also that they might impregnate them, and beget children by them, that thus nothing might be wanting to them on earth. But you were formerly spiritual, living the eternal life, and immortal for all generations of the world. And therefore I have not appointed wives for you; for as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven is their dwelling.”
“You have been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth. You have no peace.”
Enoch had multiple visions of hell, where the fallen angels were to one day be imprisoned. Chapter 18 verses 12b – 16 describes one of them:
“And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no birds, but it was a waste and horrible place. I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains, and to me, when I inquired regarding them, The angel said: ‘This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven. And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times. And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) for ten thousand years.”
In Chapter 21, Enoch is terrified of Hell and of the flaming abyss he saw there and called it a “spectacle of the pain.” Again, we must view the writings of Enoch as a secular book and not as the authoritative Word of God. You can accept or reject the information about angels portrayed here. I included this in the teaching as a historical secular book to give you some of the basis of where the Jewish traditions about angels came from. It’s very clear from the above that the book of Enoch’s portrayal of the fallen angels resemble to that of the weeping angels as shown in the tv show Dr. Who!

A long time ago; there was a primordial beast. This beast was known as the Chaoskampf. This was one of the original primordial beasts of creation.
The Chaoskampf, or “the Battle Against Chaos,” is a recurring theme in biblical and ancient Near Eastern literature, depicting a divine hero’s victory over chaotic forces, often associated with the sea. This battle, often culminating in creation, signifies God’s dominion and establishes order in the world.
There’s a popular German word in theology known as “Chaoskampf”—meaning, “battle against chaos.” Many ancient mesopotamian creation stories are steeped in chaoskampf, be it Baal fighting Yamm (the sea itself), or Marduk fighting Tiamat (a sea monster). As these gods fight, the world is created and put in order. For example, Marduk uses pieces of Tiamat’s corpse to create the world.
So what makes the bible different?
While the creation story in Genesis does not use chaoskampf: “for Yahweh is so powerful that he need do nothing more than speak to create“; other creation stories in the Bible use chaoskampf. Though Yahweh did not need to fight the other little-g-gods he made in order to create the world, the Bible writers still use chaoskampf to show that Yahweh is supreme over all the other gods and chaos forces that ancient culture feared.
So then is there any biblical references to this cosmic yet primordial battle?
In fact, there is! For example, in Psalm 89:10-12 it talks about how Yahweh defeated the sea monster named Rahab and then it goes on to acknowledge how he created the world and owns it all. In Psalm 74:13-17 for example, it speaks of how Yahweh defeated the many heads of the sea monster Leviathan and then follows up this statement with God establishing the stars, the sun, the day, the night, the boundaries of the earth and the seasons. In the book of job, specifically in Job 26:7-13, we also see some similar comparisons as well.
In fact, the gospel of John takes it a step even further. He, (John), takes all of these chaoskampf themes and weaves them into the book of Revelation. There he envisions the Old Testament’s many-headed water-chaos-monsters and earth-chaos-monsters rising up alongside the ultimate dragon-chaos-monster, Satan.
He, (John), wants us to see that one day all themes and beings of chaos will reach their peak reign in society, religion, politics, and cosmology, and then God will defeat them once and for all, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah 27:1 where it is proclaimed that one day God will take his sword and slay Leviathan for good.
References to Baal’s Cycle in scriptures.
It is interesting to know that the timeless message of Scripture had a special relationship to the challenges of the specific age in which God’s word first entered the world. For much of the Old Testament until the exile, the main religious “competitor” to Yahweh was the pagan deity Baal. Understanding something of Baal is useful background to both events and written material.
Passages like Hosea 2:16-17 suggest either some in ancient Israel were confused as to the distinction between Yahweh and Baal or were happily polytheistic – to the chagrin of Yahwehists. This ambiguity as to which deity was responsible for what events seemingly lies behind the wordplay in Hosea 2:16-1.
“At that time,” declares the Lord, “you will call, ‘My husband’; you will never again call me, ‘My master.’ [a word play Ba’li on the deity Ba’al] For I will remove the names of the Baal idols from your lips, so that you will never again utter their names!”
This follows the people in Hos 2:5, 8 thinking Baal gave them agricultural blessings rather than Yahweh. The God of Israel intended to remove this ambiguity and alter religious language to avoid future boundary-crossing.
In the Old Testament Yahweh specifically claims powers traditionally associated with Baal as well as his titles. We also see examples of how beliefs associated with Baal are used by the Old Testament to express Yahweh’s primacy. Why God would do so is a question worth reflecting on.
Baal reigned as the chief god over the Canaanite divine assembly of gods. He was the storm god, the bringer of rain/fertility with the power of thunder and lightning.
The biblical story of Elijah and Mount Carmel.
Elijah’s activities were fashioned to attack the Baal myth. In 1 Kings 17:1 Elijah’s declaration that:
“As certainly as the Lord God of Israel lives (whom I serve), there will be no dew or rain in the years ahead unless I give the command.…”
This was a direct challenge from Elisha to Baal, who each autumn brought the storms and necessary rain. The rain testified to Baal’s life, drought reflected Baal’s death or absence. After three and a half years of the public failure of Baal to bring the rain, Elijah sets up the contest on Mount Carmel. In doing so he targets more of the Baal’s myth
The contest features a bull (1 Kings 18:23) – a symbol of Baal and one linked to Baal’s previous conflict with death.
Each deity was challenged to bring down fire from heaven (1 Kings 18:24). The term, while used of fire is also used of lightning (eg Exod 9:23-24, Psa 18:13-15, Psa 148:8). Lightning is a core power of Baal the storm god.
Elijah’s mocking – that Baal is away or asleep (1 Kings 18:27) echoes the Baal Cycle episode when the god was away in the underworld, asleep. Hence the prophets, like Anath and even El had to rouse him.
The prophets of Baal proceed to cut themselves to show their dedication/devotion (and some would say desperation) just as Anat cut herself in sorrow for Baal (and perhaps also hoping their blood on the soil would eventually bring Baal back just as Mot’s blood did?) (note in Zech 13:6 wounds between the hands (ie the chest) is a tell-tale sign of a false prophet)
To cap off Yahweh’s victory, not only does lightning burn up the altar and sacrifice but He sends the rain (1 Kings 18:44) – completing the demonstration that Yahweh rather than Baal was the lord of rain – and the right deity for Israel. this would also make God “the rider on the storm”, (Isa 19:1)!
Yahweh not Baal is the cloud rider claims Isaiah. More extensive appropriation of Baal language appears in Psalm 68. The author in describing Yahweh’s superiority attributes a wide range of qualities, not all of which are associated with Baal. However there is clearly Baal like titles and powers described in the following verses of Psalm 68:4
“4. Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Exalt the one who rides on the clouds! For the Lord is his name! Rejoice before him!
7. O God, when you lead your people into battle, when you march through the desert, (Selah) 8 the earth shakes, yes, the heavens pour down rain before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. 9 O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people. When they are tired, you sustain them,
33. to the one who rides through the sky from ancient times! Look! He thunders loudly. 34 Acknowledge God’s power, his sovereignty over Israel, and the power he reveals in the skies!”
Either via a deliberate polemic takeover or by the absorption of common religious language and ideas, the Baal story is impacting Scripture.
The Baal’s cycle explained!
The Babylonian epics have a similar but different account where Marduk (the chief god) defeats the Tiamat (the sea) and her demons. There are some missing sections from the Baal Cycle so we don’t have the entire record, but overall there are differences to the Babylonian epic. Marduk creates the world after killing his dragon opponents but in Canaan El is the creator god, Baal doesn’t undertake creative activity from what we know. As scholars have noted the two epics have differences and the connotations may vary even if the tropes are similar.
So then why would this be of any importance in Christianity?
In the Hebrew Bible there are a number of references to sea monsters/dragon creatures. Typically they were referred to as Leviathan but also as Tannin and occasionally as Rahab.
In Isaiah 27, we have wording which at the very least draws on the Litan/Baal stories.
This passage in the Baal Cycle also answers a little quirk in Psa 74:13. The passage through to v17 is below:
“You destroyed the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster in the water. You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you fed him to the people who live along the coast. You broke open the spring and the stream; you dried up perpetually flowing rivers. You established the cycle of day and night; you put the moon and sun in place. You set up all the boundaries of the earth; you created the cycle of summer and winter. Psa 74:13-17”
Why is God crushing the plural heads of Leviathan? Because as the Baal cycle informs us Leviathan had seven heads. Interestingly a seven-headed serpent/dragon finds echoes later in Old and New Testament. While psalm is sometimes associated with the Exodus, the immediate context of v13-17 appears to be closer to Genesis 1 with the establishment of day and night and the seasons which is interesting. Controlling the wild and dangerous sea and defeating the dragons was an appropriate motif to include in a reflection on creation (and perhaps to recycle into a “national covenantal creation if Exodus is indeed the underpinning context).
Whether as a deliberate appropriation of Baal’s exploits, or a reusing of familiar motifs to convey new information, Litan/Leviathan crops up a few times in the Old Testament. Job 41 is probably the most well-known, Leviathan is there presented as an awesome beast yet a plaything for Yahweh. Interesting there is another parallel to Baal mythology. While preferring a mix of literal creature, conservative scholars like Clines admit of Leviathan in this passage that:
“It is no doubt the same mythological figure that is called Lotan, or more correctly Lītān, in the Ugaritic literature, a sea-monster that threatens Baal (KTU 1.5.1.1 = CTA 5.1.1; KTU 1.3.III.4–42 = CTA 3.III.D.37–39)[22]”
The banes of humanity!
Just when you thought it could be any more worst, it gets worse! The story about the banes of humanity included the 3 primordial beasts names Leviathan, behemoth and the Ziz.
The banes of humanity, more recently referred to as the guardians of earth or the three prime evils, constitute a trio of immensely powerful primordial beasts, all created by God, esteemed as among the most formidable creatures to have ever traversed the earth, and their influence extends even to the vast expanse of the entire universe.
The first is the Behemoth, the primordial beast of the Earth, the second is the Leviathan, the primordial beast of the sea, and lastly is the Ziz, the primordial beast of the air. They were once all collectively known as the Banes of Job (later as the Banes of Humanity) earned because of a historic event in which Job was assigned the impossible task of hunting down and capturing these monsters, a feat he ultimately failed to accomplish. In recent times, they are also known by the title of Guardians of Earth, holding distinct domains as the primordial beasts of the Earth, the sea, and the air, respectively.
Additionally, the name itself also alludes to an ancient tablet with immense significance. This tablet is said to function as a key to keeping the three beasts of creation securely confined within their respective domains, where they rule with unyielding authority. The tablet is divided into three pieces, each bearing the intricate carving of one of these awe-inspiring creatures. When these three pieces are brought together, they have the power to summon the three destructive beasts back to Earth, where they will unleash devastation upon all that surrounds them.
These formidable beings were designed to be beyond the control of Adam and Eve, as their purpose was to serve as stewards and custodians of the untamed forces of nature. They were entrusted with the task of maintaining a delicate and harmonious balance in the natural world, overseeing the well-being of both creatures and ecosystems, ensuring the order and equilibrium of the world they inhabited.
However, it would be at result from the war in heaven, the rebellion led by Lucifer, the ultimate war that the very foundations of creation itself would be brought about a profound and unsettling shift. Among the myriad disturbances unleashed by this conflict was a transformation within the animal kingdom, leading creatures to turn against each other in a relentless struggle for survival. They also began to oppose their former masters, Adam and Eve. This tumultuous upheaval extended to the three Primordial Beasts: the Behemoth, the Ziz, and the Leviathan. Under the influence of these cosmic shifts, these mighty beings found themselves locked in bitter conflict with one another.
This discord within the Primordial Beasts threatened to plunge the three layers of the Earth, as well as the inhabitants dwelling within them, into utter chaos. In response to this imminent threat, God intervened, compelled to separate these formidable creatures. This separation was necessary to prevent them from wreaking untold natural destruction upon the planet and its inhabitants, allowing them time to regain their composure and restore balance once more.
Even with their minds returning to peace, some remnants of that chaos affected subconsciously which made them be somewhat aggressive to each other and God himself which they required thousands of years to regain whom they once were.
These Three mythical creatures who appear in the Bible and are part of Judaic legends. At the end of times, God supposedly will kill these creatures and men will feast on their flesh.
Leviathan is foretold to contaminate the seas, while Behemoth will carve the land with deep chasms and fissures. Ziz, in turn, will shroud the sky, casting an eternal shadow over the earth below. These three monstrous entities are believed to embody the very essence of chaos and destruction, and there are legends that trace their origins back to the ancient times when they once ruled over a nascent Earth, only to be vanquished by the hand of God.
I wish would like to mention that when the banes of humanity fell, the Leviathan became the knight of hell, the behemoth became the Cheif cup bearer of hell and I’m not really sure about the Ziz.
Archdemon Azazel, the leader of the lesser evils!
Azazel is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in Leviticus 16:8-10. In this passage, it refers to one of two goats chosen on the Day of Atonement, one of which was sacrificed for the people’s sins, and the other was sent into the wilderness as a Scapegoat for Azazel.
While the name “Azazel” is found in the book of Enoch, which is not part of the biblical canon, it describes Azazel as a fallen angel and the leader of other fallen angel.
Even though the book of Enoch isn’t cannon, I do consider the story of Azazel cannon to the bible, and here’s why!
In Genesis 6:4 we read this:
“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown”
This verse describes the Nephilim, a group of powerful beings who were born from the union of “sons of God” (often interpreted as angels or heavenly beings) and human women. In the context of Genesis, Azazel was the one who taught manking the forbidden knowledge that ultimately led to the event of the world wide flood of Noah’s days. Azazel was as a Watcher, who fell shortly after Lucifer and taught man the art of weapon making and women how to use cosmetics.
Azazel as a demon is prominent, and the wilderness was typically viewed as the abode of demons (De Verteuil, “Scapegoat,” 210; Pinker, “Goat,” 4–9; Ball, “Azazel,” 77). Azazel is featured briefly in the pseudepigraphic work 1 Enoch at 8:1; 9:6; 10:4–8; and 13:1–3. He is described there as the demon who taught humans metalworking (for the creation of weapons and adornments) and was cast into the desert as punishment (Schultz, “Azazel,” 657–58; Grabbe, “Scapegoat,” 153–56; Hanson, “Rebellion,” 222–25; Helm, “Azazel,” 217–22; Tawil, “Azazel,” 52–56). Relying on the use of the word “goat” (עֵל, el) in the construction of the name, it is possible that Azazel was imagined as a satyr-like demon roaming the desert, leading to the prohibition in Lev 17:7 against worshiping satyrs (de Verteuil, “Scapegoat,” 217–18).
The sacrifice of two goats, one to God and one to Azazel, could represent a balanced theological dichotomy (De Verteuil, “Scapegoat,” 213; Frey-Anthes, “Concepts,” 48).
Azazel is also described as the demon chained under the desert in Dudael. If what we read in the book of Leviticus is indeed true then the passages in the book of Enoch, chapter 10 verses 4–7 is also therefore considered cannon to the bible.
This means that Dudael is indeed the place of imprisonment for the Archdemon Azazel, (one of the fallen angels), and the cohort of Samyaza. chapter 10 verses 4–7 says this:
“And again the Lord said to Raphael: ‘Bind Azazel hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert, which is in Dudael, and cast him therein. And place upon him rough and jagged rocks, and cover him with darkness, and let him abide there for ever, and cover his face that he may not see light. And on the day of the Great judgment, he shall be cast into the fire.”
Dudael is also implied to be the prison of all the fallen angels, especially the evil watchers, the entrance of which is located to the east of Jerusalem. The way this place is described, Dudael is sometimes considered as a region of the underworld, comparable to Tartarus or Gehenna; which are all considered to be biblically apart of hell.
Another interesting thing about Azazel is his connection to the Primordial Sea Monster itself, The Chaoskampf. According to legend when God cut off the 7 heads of Rahab, the Prime Evils and the Lesser Evils were born. Compared to the Primes, mortals have gathered far less information on them. Like the Prime Evils, each of the Lesser Evils ruled over their own realm in Hell.
In their ignorance, the Lesser Evils began to believe that the Three prime evils were afraid to continue the war with Heaven. They considered themselves innately superior to humankind, and that the Eternal Conflict was theirs alone to fight. Frustrated by the cessation of the war, Azmodan and Belial saw the situation as their chance to overthrow the Prime Evils and take control of Hell for themselves. Belial manipulated Azmodan into revolt and the demon lords made pacts with their brethren, assuring them that humanity would not deter them from seizing victory in the Eternal Conflict; (not to be confused with the lore of the Diablo game franchise)!
The Heavenly Council vs the pantheon of Baal!
In the Cananite story, A feature of the Baal Cycle is the divine assembly or council. This was compromised of the lesser gods, whom Baal provided over. El was the supreme god but Baal ran the show in a kind of ‘King and Prime Minister’ type model. Job 41, which we touched on in relation to Leviathan/Litan/the dragon contains an obscured reference to the divine council. In verse 9 according to the Pope, we see the:
“lines are difficult and it is apparent that the text has suffered some sabotage intended to obscure gross pagan mythological allusions…the Masoretes have obscured the sense of the line”
Based on both the Syriac version, (a textual tradition dating back to the 2nd century with manuscripts dating back to the 5th century) and Symmachus’ Greek Old Testament from circa 200 AD, the Pope and others like the NRSV follow this authority in translating v9:
“Any hope of capturing it will be disappointed; were not even the gods overwhelmed at the sight of it?”
When were the gods overwhelmed by the sight of Leviathan? The answer perhaps is found in the Baal Cycle. When Yamm rejects Baal’s promotion, he sent messengers to the divine assembly of gods, which caused all of them (including El) to lose heart as the epic records:
“The gods lowered their heads onto their knees, and onto the thrones of their princeships”
This doesn’t endorse Baal’s conflict with Litan’s as historical nor that there is a divine assembly of lesser gods, but it demonstrates the use of common cultural language and models.
The members of the divine council are restored to variously as “the sons of El” and also as the assembly (or host) of heaven as the below extract shows:
“which the gods do not know, the assembly of the stars, the circle of those in the heavens”
The commentator notes the expression “host of heaven” scripturally is used of both stars and the pagan pantheon (and example being 2 Chron 33:5). This is reinforced in Job 38:7 which simply equates the ideas of the stars and the divine assembly in the same way as the Baal Cycle does:
“when the morning stars sang in chorus, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
In Isa 24:21 Yahweh promises judgment upon the divine assembly as well as on earthly rulers saying:
“On that day the Lord will punish the host of heaven in heaven, and on earth the kings of the earth. 22 They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.”
The passage doesn’t let us read the heavenly host as being the same as the earthly rulers. Each group is judged in their respective and different locations. Perfectly rationale in the context of a Canaanite pantheon which needed correction by the chief god. Somewhat unusual in the context of our expectations of the text. However this is not the only oddity. Readers of translations overly reliant on the Masoretic Text tradition are probably unaware of the ‘interesting’ history of Deut 32:8. In the KJV it reads:
“When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, When he separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the people According to the number of the children of Israel”
However this rendering appears to be one which later scribes “fixed”. According to both the LXX and the Dead Sea Scroll 4QDeut the passage should read:
“When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided up humankind, he set the boundaries of the peoples, according to the number of the heavenly assembly”
Moses tells the Israelites (steeped in polytheism) the land of Israel and all national boundaries were divvied up based on the count of gods. Attempts to read the heavenly assembly as angels or faithful people cannot be right. Was the territory between Moab and Ammon (or Fiji and Tonga) based on the number of Israelites? No. How would Moses audience have understood this verse? Only one way – the way which the Masoretic text sought to obscure (some would say “correct”) by changing the text to say the boundaries were set according to the number of Israel. But the text actually reflects the common polytheistic idea of a divine assembly. Rather than be challenged by the text, we can see instead how God worked with people communicating in ideas and language they understood.
The conclusion
Most readers of the Old Testament would be well aware of the story of the Chaoskampf and the conflict of loyalty between Yahweh and Baal. It is a dominant theme, especially during the period of the kings and therefore a subject of interest. The issue seems to dominate the narrative in the time of Elijah and later Jehu. An understanding of the background to the Baal mythology provides insight into the action of protagonists and the way in which the prophets of Yahweh claimed Baal’s titles, powers and language for their deity.
At the practical level, the insights from the Baal stories demonstrate again the significance of culture to understanding the Bible – including otherwise challenging ideas. Bible study should be informed by cultural considerations (while not being subject to it). Spiritually the responses show how God met Israel where they were and led them to a better understanding. At times this included language modern Christians with justifiable monotheistic insistence would condemn. Yet Yawheh used such language. Why? Surely because singular loyalty to Him was more important than every theological exactitude. Perhaps God seeks earnest progress over theological perfection? This example surely has implications for how we interact with believers and unbelievers alike.
